    • looks like she is causing some more questions and controversy.....you have to wonder at times if Mayor Coleman wonders what to do with her.

    Frankie Coleman, assistant manager at the Department of Development, denies allegations of shorting her work weeks.



    The wife of Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman started work at the Ohio Department of Development in February, but her boss at the time wouldn't sign Frankie L. Coleman's first time sheets on grounds that Mrs. Coleman did not work all of the hours listed.


    Mrs. Coleman says she worked all of the hours and more. But Glenda Williamson, who was director of the department's Workforce Development Office, said Mrs. Coleman reported working 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and typically didn't arrive until 9:30 a.m. or later and didn't come in at all for three days in a two-week period

    I was discussing my comment with someone in pm's, they suggested I post this story. It kinda explains my comment, it wasn't really meant as a joke.

    I work for the govt, but as a contracted employee (they hired my company to supply someone with a particular skill set, lucky me). There are people here who show up, drop off their stuff, leave, shop all day (or go to the bar), come back, get their stuff, and go home. One of them in particular they rectified it by letting her "work" from home everyday....

    At least now though, she isn't driving to work, and home drunk...
    She would sit with a sport bottle of zima and spend the time she was here hammered, or spent on meth. Fuck, you know it takes an act of congress to fire a federal employee? It's a bigger fucking racket than the mob.


    Then there is the guy who is the meth dealer, who is so whacked out and obviously whacked out... by the looks of him though, he will be dead soon.

    The fat guy, this dude was 500 lb's or better, govt supplied a cart, like a "scamp" but beefier. Think 3 wheel cushman golf cart, but steel, not fiberglass. Years ago he got a new one, weight limit 650 lb's, I over heard him, as he was in the cafeteria getting yogurt covered pretzels saying "Alright, room to grow!" and seeming genuinely happy about it. He also drove an old hearse, I would assume for the extra suspension.

    Now, not everyone here is a freeloader sucking down your tax dollars. There are some genuinely good people, who work very very hard everyday, it is just that the percentage of freeloaders is exceptionally high in govt work, and it is frustrating as hell.

    As an employee of the Ohio Department of Taxation, I can tell you we've had two employees that were lazy and acted like the world owed them a living.

    Neither is an employee of the state any longer. But it took an act of God to get rid of them and three years of book.

    The plot thickens...

    Excerpt:
    Fisher said the investigation will involve reviewing records and interviewing department workers, possibly including Glenda Williamson, Mrs. Coleman's former supervisor.
    Williamson refused to sign one of Mrs. Coleman's initial time sheets because she did not observe those hours worked. Williamson was told the day after refusing to sign that she was being replaced, but Fisher said the two actions are not related.

    Although the commentary got split-off, ohioforum brings up some good points. Namely, how stupid would Frankie have to be to have her boss fired a single day after she refused to sign off on timesheets? Nobody is that stupid. I'm (mostly) certain that she could find away to have Williamson removed without her name ever coming up.

    I don't believe the timing was coincidental, regardless of who was at fault, but I wouldn't be shocked to find out at some point that Williamson knew she was getting her notice and was looking for a way to either keep her job, create a lawsuit, etc. Just a hunch, no basis in fact.

    I can't help but think that there is a LOT more to this story than just what we are hearing.

    Records showing when Frankie L. Coleman entered and exited a state parking garage tend to support her former supervisor's allegations that she didn't work all the time that was claimed.


    The documents obtained by The Dispatch show when an access card assigned to Mrs. Coleman was used in the parking garage for the Riffe Center, where Mrs. Coleman, wife of Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman, has worked for the Ohio Department of Development since February

    The in and out times generally match observations made by Glenda Williamson, Mrs. Coleman's former boss, of when Mrs. Coleman came in late or not at all. Mrs. Coleman's time sheets show her working from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on those days, and her paychecks reflect those hours.
