Two nights ago, I watch a BBC program on asteroid impacts with the Earth. During the program, they interviewed various experts, beginning with the top experts at Ohio State. When they showed the effects of an asteroid hitting the Earth, I took some offense that they showed it hitting Columbus and then how long it took to reach the other researchers they interviewed at Penn State, UCLA etc.
Apparently, the target last night was a bit north of Columbus. Northern Iowa? Over Sullivan, Wisconsin flying from West to East? Definitely not Columbus...

Iowa, Wisconsin ? Various meteor shower spectators felt excited as they waited last night?s meteor shower named Gamma Virginids in Northern Iowa in Wisconsin.

Accordingly, the meteor shower event struck at around 10pm Central Time. Spectators from Iowa Wisconsin described it as a giant green fireball which lit the sky for several seconds and was seen for about 15 minutes Illnois, Ohio, Missouri and Indiana before it was broken down into pieces.
