Maryland Terrapins (official thread of the turdles)

Half an hour late to the presser, it's finally on now.

President just announced that they accept all responsibility for what happened to this kid...

He's going a long way just to say that he's firing the staff involved.

He's blaming the athletic training staff, and not the coaching staff...for the death.

For the allegations of misconduct, he's saying that they're going to investigate, LOL

Looks like D.J. is going to survive the day.

Per the presser:
They fired the strength and conditioning coach, are opening an investigation into the toxic culture allegations, admitted training staff fucked up on mcnair. AD also said he saw no evidence of the toxic culture report. He was a former uga wr, gotta imagine he is around the football program alot.

It seems to me they are making a distinction between training and coaching staff to possibly keep Durkin... As long as the toxic culture investigation doesn't turn anything up.

we don't really care man

I actually do care, and what's the point of giving anybody grief for posting Maryland news in the Maryland thread?

Heather Dinich said on CFB Live today that Durkin was present at the practice on May 29th, which is something I hadn't heard before, and if that's true it won't help him keep his job. Either way, I don't think Durkin will be retained, and I'd be surprised if they don't announce it before their first game, which happens to be hosting Texas and Tom Herman on September 1st.

Also, for jerkin4, it is possible to change your BP handle, it takes an Admin to do it.

So, I'm confused at this point (posted this in the UFM thread)....

Why are some reporting he was "fired," some are reporting that he "parted ways" with the university, and he said he "resigned?"

I know "resigned" means "we're gonna fire you for cause." I get that.

It's the reporting of this all that is driving me nuts.

I was giving grief over the Nebraska fans incessant attempts to somehow convince us that whatever happened with Durkin would affect the Urban Meyer outcome because of well, media.

It was not about simply posting Maryland news in the Maryland thread.

Huh? I was listening to the presser live, posting comments in this thread.
If you don't think the media helps try to drive the outcome in different situations, man.....

Just about every media personality up until 1:35 had Durkin being fired today.
Just about every media personality on Twitter is saying that the Maryland strength and conditioning coach was fired. When he actually resigned. Yesterday.

I understand giving me grief on the other thread, but c'mon....

I heard it reported a few days ago but then never mentioned again. If true he HS to be gone even if he wasn't in charge of practice and just observing.

Ok but what does their case have to do with Ohio State? Or is your point that the media runs with things that get clicks? Because, I don’t know if you know this.....but we’re Ohio State fans. We can teach classes on that.
