Marco Cooper on the Fan.....

He has already been backpedalling from his "statements" in the ESPN the Ragazine article. It will be interesting to hear what he says on the air.

Don;t know how long the connection will hold, but here is an update:

Marco given true or false questions:

False on booster gave him furniture.

True about the cars.

False that JT coordinated bogus landscaping job

Marco implies that he thought ESPN the Ragazine was doing an article about him. Either the Rag said that (which is very low) or Marco is many fries short of a happy meal. Could be a little of both I guess.

Marco describes OSU as a clean program. All rules are followed.

Marco takes responsibility for his actions. A bigger man than MoC in that respect.

Man he is kinda hard to understand or maybe it's my connection.

cooper basically says...

espn misled him....

tressel never, never did anything wrong...

as far as he knows all of the rules have been followed....

no furniture was provided and no boosters helped him.....

he did get a loaner car for a signed helmet, but it was his own doing..

he told espn he didnt want to be involved in anything to do with a clarett story, the thought it was a story about him (same thing maldonado said).

HE WAS MISLED COMPLETELY BY ESPN AS TO THE PURPOSE OF THE ARTICLE..

in essence....he says...as maldonado does....that espn lied and misled to him and had an agenda that was misrepresented....he said that friendless had been trying to contact him for a year.....

What stuck out to me.... He said that he told ESPN directly that his use of cars for memorabilia had nothing to do with boosters, the team, or tOSU in any way!! It was his deal through contacts he had made since arriving in Columbus. There was much more!! Excellent interview.

Is there a way for this interview to get out to the public? Can Tim May or Bob Hunter or someone at the Dispatch do an article that would go out over the wire? Anyone have any connections at the Dispatch?

It seems like it would be a good idea to re-interview all of the principle players and get their take on the way their comments were portrayed, how they were approached by ESPN, etc.

So JT is more honest than ESPN reporters?

I'm shocked, absolutely shocked!!

I'm now holding my breath for the ESPN retraction. I'll keep you posted as to how many shades of blue I turn.
