Man U +0.5 at Arsenal (Tue, 2:30 ET, ESPN2)

I will admit I am a bit bitter from the 1st leg where Manchester dominated. I want my favorite EPL team to win the next leg by two goals, but I also want to see the Man U fans shut up. American Man U fans are like most Yankee fans - never been to the city (or at least didn't go there until they started to like the team), only root for them b/c of their status and have no real reason to cheer for Man U. Man U fans = front-running, bandwagon fans.

So what do you call Man U fans that have been to Manchester and been on a tour of the stadium and been cheering them on since 1997? Just curious as I like to bag on Arsenal fans for being the second most arrogant and sorriest loosers around. Just face it, Arsene has been banking on younger and younger players that just can't get it done. I can understand all the hostility, 4 years with no trophies can be frustrating. Hang in there Gooner, your team will be back in favor in like 2016.

Meh... having grown up in NEO I am used to teams in constant building status. What's one more even if it is across the pond? 4 years w/o a trophy is nothing compared to Cleveland sports going back around 50 years w/o a championship of some sort (not that I have been there for all of those years). The Shot, The Drive, Mesa blowing the save, etc. Following Arsenal and reading weak talk about bagging on the "2nd most arrogant and sorriest losers" is nothing compared to having had watched/lived through those Cleveland teams.

And you can relax considering I said that I was writing out of bitterness. I don't know your circumstances but I do know the majority of American Man U fans are band-wagon, front running people. But cheering for Man U for 13 years and going there doesn't preclude the possibility that you from picked them bc they were perennial favorites. That is pretty much the definition of front running if you have no real connection to the area or team - just like you see from Yankees fans in the midwest that have cheered for them for X years and have taken Y trips to Yankee stadium.

But congrats to Man U as their side was clearly better. I really don't have a problem with their team at all as I enjoy watching good soccer. I don't have a problem with how they operate in terms of contracts. I don't have a problem with any of their players - it is a joy to watch Ronaldo at times. Good for them. What I do have a problem with is the concept of frontrunning no matter when it starts - that and the arrogance it breeds since we all know who the most arrogant fans are, pot.
