Dunno.. don't we have spy planes that can do Mach 6 (4000 mph), flys at 80,000 ft and takes photos of license plates...
why can't we send a couple over the Indian Ocean and have a pic of every square inch within an hour?

You know, when I heard that there were multiple Iranians using stolen passports on board all these many days ago, I never saw this coming.

If I was king.. I would make two engineering changes law... The ability of Air Traffic Control to send signals to
1) cockpit door locks to 'permanently' lock or unlock them as deemed necessary for the situation
2) transponders to bypass manual operation and turn them on.. with no ability to override once signal sent
