Only active players (on rosters) are eligible. If you want to balance it off the list which is current as of today, you can find it here;

Here's mine. Feel free to tear it to shreds.

QB - Craig Krenzel
RB - Eddie George
FB - Jamar Martin
TE - Rickey Dudley
SE - Terry Glenn
FL - David Boston
LT - Orlando Pace
LG - LeCharles Bentley
C - Alex Stepanovich
RG - Adrien Clarke
RT - Shane Olivea

LE - Will Smith
DT - Dan Wilkinson
DT - Ryan Pickett
RE - Kenny Peterson
SAM - Na'il Diggs
MIKE - Cie Grant
WILL - Mike Vrabel
FS - Will Allen
SS - Mike Doss
LCB - Shawn Springs
RCB - Antoine Winfield

3DNBK - Jonathan Wells
TE2 - Ben Hartsock
SLOT - Michael Jenkins
DT3 - Tim Anderson
NICKEL - Ahmed Plummer
LS - Kevin Houser
K - Andy Groom
P - Tom Tupa
KR - Chris Gamble & Nate Clements
PR - Joey Galloway

Tough calls;
Rickey Dudley over Ben Hartsock. (Went with experience despite liking Hartsock here more.)
Terry Glenn over Michael Jenkins and Joey Galloway. (Went with experience and raw ability. He looked good with Dallas.)
Adrien Clarke over Tyson Walter and Rob Murphy. (Meh)
Shane Olivea over Tyson Walter. (Meh)
Kenny Peterson over Darrion Scott. (Toss up)
Ryan Pickett over Tim Anderson and Darrion Scott. (Experience despite liking Anderson here more.)
All 3 LBs. Ultimate dropped them where their current teams see them. (Grant is probably the least ILB of the three, yet that's where the Saints are looking at putting him. Vrabel can be all three. Diggs is entirely content at SAM. Also considered Vrabel at DE, but that meant Cie at Will and Wilhelm at Mike.)
No Kicker (One more year Nuge. Please steal any Gramatica's job. Andy gets it over B.J. with a coin flip.)
Tom Tupa over B.J. Sander and Andy Groom (Tom's got the experience, is a backup QB, and is doing well despite his advancing years. And yet I'm still partial to Groom and Sander)

Very nice list. I'd take Nate Clements as one of the corners. Springs has struggled the past couple years and hasn't been able to stay healthy. I guess I'd take Clements over Jenkins on kick returns as well.

Was just thinking the same thing on Clements on KR. Plugged him in to get him on the field. Really spent a while thinking about the CBs. Antoine is a gimme. I went with Springs over Clements in part because I think the only knock on him is his propensity for injury. Nothing against Nate, I just think Shawn (when healthy) can still be close to a shut-down corner in the league. Given the surprising dollar amount they forked out, the Redskins seem to think so, but who knows what that means. Since Clements makes the team as a KR, we have him in reserve [strike]if[/strike] when Springs slips and hurts himself.

--edit--
Honestly, looking at this team from an NFL viability perspective, the only glaring weaknesses are QB, everything but the left side of the OL (where we have two guys any NFL team would love to have), and kicker. There are areas that are soft, but not much softer than you might expect to see on a normal team. I don't know how many wins they'd rack up, hopefully we'd get to play the Cardinals, Lions and Texans a few times each (ignore the divisional impossibility there).

That's a pretty good list. I think it will be interesting to keep an eye on Rodney Bailey making the move to the Patriots from the Steelers. The Steelers basically wasted away Vrabel's talents, while the Patriots really harvested them and reaped the results consequent. I think there is a chance for Bailey to also blossom with the Pats, and hope that he is given that chance.

No mention of Ahmed Plummer at CB? It's tough to replace any of the other guys, but the 49ers dished out 25 million to Ahmed, while letting TO, Garcia and Deese walk.

Ahmed made Nickel over Clements, in part because of that very consideration. I thought for a while about either him of Clements supplanting Shawn Springs, but it's hard to sit a corner of Shawn's ability.

Any way you look at it, OSU has put some serious CB talent in the league this past decade.

RB - Eddie George
FB - Jamar Martin
TE - Rickey Dudley
SE - Michael Jenkins
FL - David Boston
LT - Orlando Pace
LG - LeCharles Bentley

SLOT - Terry Glenn
DT3 - Dan Wilkenson
NICKEL - Ahmed Plummer
LS - Kevin Houser
K - Andy Groom
P - Tom Tupa
KR - Chris Gamble
PR - Michael Jenkins

I took Jenkins over Glenn, Jenkins will be the better pro hands down and I took Tim Anderson over Big daddy, basically because Big daddy is a waste of space, Tim Anderson will make more plays. Also, I took Clements over a injury prone Springs, gotta get on the field first Shawn.

There are some serious secondary talent in the league from OSU and the Defensive Lineman arent bad either. Its to bad about Damon and his leg, I thought he could of one day been an all-pro type player.

Id agree this is a solid team minus qb, we have no real nfl caliber qbs. Germaine and Hoying spent some time fighting for a starting job, but this is why i think um beat us so much in the 90s. We had far better players, but they had GREAT qb play in guys like harbaugh, elvis, brady, henson, etc... I think this may change if we open up the offense this year, we have a good possibily of having all of our games with national, or near national coverage. If we spread the ball around the field, qbs around the country will want to come here and play with the talent that has been assembled in columbus. Look at what we have at flanker and se who wouldnt want to be the man delivering 25-35 touches to those guys.

The other glaring weakness is kicker, we struggled there in teh 90s with guys like Malfat etc. but those guys have a 10-15 year shelf life or more if your an anderson, weve had talent to have average nfl kickers.

Besides that ill take that team anytime, maybe even to the wild card game or beyond.

ps this "talent drain" from the shoe has lead to the oppurtunity for younger-more athletic guys to step up, think that the starters on theNC team we had only has one nonNFL team player (fox whose still in school) This list is only gonna get better after a few years of not being NFL U like we were in the early 90s to bout 98

My changes:

1.) Switch Terry Glenn and Michael Jenkins. I think Jenkins will have a bigger season this year than either Boston or Glenn. Besides, in a real game, I think having Glenn in the slot and Jenkins on the edge would be more effective.

2.) I'd rank the CBs a little differently. My list would be: Winfield, Plummer, Clements, Springs, then Gamble.

3.) I'd rank the punters Tupa, Sander, then Groom. One of the knocks on Groom last year when he was battling Tupa was that Groom was inconsistent in placement of his punts. Sander was a master at that last year, pinning opponents inside their own 20 yd line at a much higher rate than Groom did in the previous season. Also, I think the fact that Sander was drafted relatively early for a P, while Groom was not drafted at all is enough to give Sander an early edge.

4.) Put Boston at LB... J/K:wink2:
