This label usually means cheap and readily available consumer items. It also means, for some people, human rights issues and the upcoming Olympics. For some, it means injury and death.

I haven't had time to fully investigate all of those items mentioned so don't take the site, or my post, as gospel! :wink2:

There was an article a week or two ago that I read where the author tried to go a week without buying anything that was made in China or contained ingredients or parts from China.
It was virtually impossible.

Yup, I read that too, on Reuters. They wrote a book about it. The folks had to eventually compromise a bit.

Mods, you may want to move this thread to the political discussion section after this post.

So what do people think about this?
Is it purely an economic issue, poorly paid workers making shoddy products so that consumers can by cheaply?
Is it an importation regulation issue and thus a problem with the government and its officials?
Any ideas how to fix any of the problems?
Does anyone worry about the fact that all the money going out to the Chinese economy is also supporting a communistic government?

..discuss....
