Smooth Olaf
Checking out Channel 9, man.
Welcome to the the Madden NFL 10 Buckeye Planet Online Franchise. For those of you who played or are playing in the NCAA Online Dynasties, this franchise will feel familiar. Many of the rules are the same. I even stole the thread layout from all the other NCAA dynasties. I'm all about [strike]stealing[/strike] borrowing other people's good ideas.

RULES AND SETTINGS
- The Franchise has begun.
- The franchise has a possible 32 slots. It is password protected. If you are interested in joining the franchise either post in this thread or send me a PM. Please include what team you'd like (AFC and NFC) and your PSN. Post 2 contains the teams already taken. I would like to keep the AFC and NFC teams even. Right now there are four AFC teams and five NFC teams. The AFC is has one team in the North, two teams in the East, and one team in the South. If you'd like an AFC team, I'd appreciate it if you chose one from the North, West or South. The NFC has two teams in the East and one team each in the North, South and West. Again, if you want an NFC team, please select one from the North, South or West. It's not mandatory, so if you just have to be a team from the NFC East, I'll allow it. I just want to keep the Human v. Human games as even as possible.
- No cheesing. Don't be stupid. You know a BS play when you see it. Don't do it. That 92 SPD backup RB better not be the #1 FB on your depth chart. Punt in obvious punting situations. Don't exploit glitches. If you feel your opponent is cheesing, either post it here or PM me and we'll try to come to an amicable decision.
- SUBJECT TO CHANGE: 11 minute quarters with 15 seconds run-off on All-Pro difficulty. Injuries and Weather are on. The "Fight for the Fumble" is on. I can't turn it off. Believe me, I tried. The sliders cannot be changed. If All-Pro gets too easy, we'll go to All-Madden.
- ALL FREE AGENT REQUESTS MUST BE APPROVED FIRST. Either post your request here or send me a PM. There is no salary cap or contracts in online franchises. You can just go in, swap the worst CB on your team for Chris McAllister, and that's that. Sending requests keeps free agency from becoming a first come/first served roster overhaul.
- Free agency works via a cap system. Check page two of this thread for how it works.
- PRESEASON FREE AGENCY: CLOSED.
- MIDSEASON FREE AGENCY: During the season, you can sign a Free Agent only if you put another player of that same position on Injured Reserve. If two or more users want to sign the same free agent in the same week, the user with the worse record gets him. If the records are tied, the user whose injured player has the highest rating can sign him. (If both users want to sign Marvin Harrison, and one user lost Randy Moss for the year and the other lost Josh Cribbs, then he's going to New England.)
- OFFSEASON FREE AGENCY: Still to be determined.
- TRADES: You will be able to trade with other users. Trades will be set to "On, No CPU trading." There is no rule concerning user v. user trading. If a user wants Ashton Youboty so much that he's willing to give up Peyton Manning and Bob Sanders for him, so be it. HOWEVER, if you know you're going to have to quit the franchise, don't trade away your best players to a friend of yours.
- THE NFL DRAFT: Rosters cannot be imported from NCAA Football 10. There is no scouting in online franchises. When it's time to draft, the generated players and all their ratings will be available. Rules for the draft (How long you have to pick, if you need to set up a priority queue, etc.) TBD.
- The schedule for the first year will be the default 2009 NFL schedule. Subsequent years will at first follow whatever the schedule generator spits out, but I'll try to adjust it so that everybody has the same number of human v. human games (if possible).
- We will complete 2 "game weeks" in 1 "real week". This is a 17 week season with 4 weeks of playoffs. This doesn't give us a lot of time to build a franchise. I wouldn't be surprised if we complete only three full seasons. There is no preseason, so we don't have to worry about that.
