From what it appears, M25 is a "must-buy" if you skipped M13.

I played the demo a bit, biggest thing I noticed is if your C gets downfield on a running play, he'll actually hold his block against a defensive back, as opposed to the typical "bounce off" move.

Only a couple instances of super-linebacker, and that was primarily when I ran the same play multiple times or tried a bullet pass when a lob would do.

If you do get it for PS3, maybe we could fire up an Online Franchise or something.

Madden Tourney next Sunday. Winner gets a pair of tickets to
Cleveland vs Cincy week 4. If the competition is anything like last year,
I'll be sitting midfield 4 rows up for free.

Thinking about using the Rams as an alt team. Solid Oline. Very active Dline, Brockers rating should be improved. Finnigan and Jenkins at CB, of course Animal in the middle. I like my chances against any offense.

Had I closed my eyes during the menu phase - I would honestly have not been able to tell if I was playing Madden 25 or 13.

What a shitty product. Same basic exploits are still widely available, 3-4 defenses are still not properly blocked against in comparison to 4-3 and
the differences are night and day. I played using the Browns and their 43under/34 scheme, held my opponent to 22 carries for 56 yards. Switched
to your standard "43" just to see what happen - roughly the same amount carries for 109 yards. Pulling guards do NOT execute their blocking logic
and instead of picking off the OLB, go straight for the safety leaving me to fend for myself.

Dual threat QB's are impossible to stop. Cam Newton can run to the far hash and throw back across his body to the WR on the left hash without the
DB being able to make up ground. The Dline contain is awful unless you manually assign it meaning no pass rush. . Even non-athletic QB's are scramblers in this game. The only time I saw any type of make up ability was when Michael Brockers literally turbo boosted to catch Vick who took the snap and started to roll. That's how EA "fixes" the problem. Oh, and don't count your DB going after a rolling out/scrambling QB until said QB crossed the line of scrimmage going full speed, essentially guaranteeing him 6 yards. EVEN if there is no WR/RB/TE in that DB's area, he'll hold his zone like he's defending a fucking castle. Double TE seams. No reason to NOT throw them every down. Simply cannot be stopped. Defensive pre-snap coverage is still way to obvious. Dlines, even good/great ones get inconsistent pressure. This includes going up against below average Olines. Either your DE's will blow by the tackles, or they'll sit and dance with them until the opposing QB runs by them rolling out of the pocket. I swear they disengage slower this year than Madden 12 or 13. Every 3rd or so drop back I counted my opponent having 7-8 real-time seconds to throw.

Defenders still don't play the ball well at all, especially in cover 3. The middle field safety will continue to drop back to his deep 1/3 even when the pass is in the air before his enters his zone depth. And man coverage? Forget about that shit. 2 man under? Might as well not field a defense. All I have to do is run one go and the other side a drag, roll out, because the dline won't stop me and the drag is always open. Even with average WR's against elite DB's.

Bottom line, once I win this Madden Tourney, I'm literally jumping back in line to trade my free copy in for store points. Hell, I might even sell it to someone standing in line for $5 less than retail. Did the same thing last year, people asked me what I was doing....? Told them its a terrible game that allows casual players to overcome total idiocy and beat players that actually use "real" football concepts. Thank god I didn't spend money on this fucking thing.


edit: How could I almost forget the bullshit PI call on Joe Haden. I saved the replay, hopefully I can upload it to youtube soon. WR runs a curl, Haden stops next to him. Both of them stand there in that "volleyball" stance, if you will. The animations kind of move towards one another, you can see them cross a single leg from one angle but neither character model touches the other. Opponent throws up the ball and doesn't come down with it. Now keep in mind i'm not controlling the DB. Both players jump in the air, next each other, not touching. PI gets called in the endzone placing the ball at the 1. Needless to say, I was pissed.

Another year, another Madden tourney victory. A little bit more competition this go around. My closest game was 27-14, which was 27-7 heading into the 4th. Got a free copy of the game, $100 store credit and a sweet Barry Sanders poster. Gave the poster to a friend, Sold the game to a kid without a pre-order. Took the money and reserved TitanFall.

Got another one on Sunday. I'm told Browns tickets are part of the prize. It's sponsored by Pepsi. This should be good.

I'm enjoying Madden25. With sliders, the game plays much better.

Just started my Browns franchise. Signed Nate Clements, Randy Moss, and Beanie Wells to 1yr deals. Traded for Jake Ballard and Tim Tebow (now my starting QB)

Weeden is 3rd string sitting on the trade block.

I'm doing the owner mode/coach where I select the plays and let the CPU actually play. It's much more fun as I'm not winning every game if I play. 1-2 in preseason and both losses were last second FG's

To top off the weekend I decided to go to another Madden tourney to show how Tresselball is played. No Browns tickets, sadly.

Gave up more than 7 points in 2 of 7 games.

Got a $25 Walmart gift card and a copy of the game - that I promptly sold to a kid for $50.

So in two days I've made roughly $225 -depending on how you want to count Gamestop Store credit.

Funny thing, I don't even have an Xbox. I haven't played Madden in months.




.... There can only be one.

I'm doing a Browns 'Chise as well. I'm trying to get Weeden high enough to snag a couple of picks for him, draft Braxton in the '15 draft, and dominate the world.

I also signed Moss, after trading Gordon for picks (That asshole drops everything). So, I'm looking to draft a WR (Ahem, Philly Brown come on down!), a corner (Hello Mr. Roby) and a LB (Why, yes, there's room here Mr. Shazier.) Then I'll dump Skrine, and probably Sheard or Kruger for picks.

My team should be primarily Buckeyes in about 3 seasons :lol:

My Browns teams are always made up primarily of Buckeyes after a few season. Anyway, what gives with the kicking? Remember back in the early days of online where the kicking meter never stopped when you wanted it to? It's happening to me in this game. I'm 0-3 on field goals beyond 35 yards. Also, when did the camera change for Madden? I don't like the camera this far back. I tried to change it, but I can't find where to do that.
