Madden 09

Game gets really easy after you get the hang of it. I'm going to up the difficulty after this game:

J. Cutler: 24/31, 345 yds, 4 TD, 0 INT
A. Peterson: 13 ATT, 159 yds, 4 TD
J. Stewart: 8 ATT, 133 yds, 2 TD
3 receivers over 60 yards, 1 over 100, four different receivers scored

Won 70-0.

I'm afraid that the improvements to the game made offense too easy. The passing game is much more realistic, but I think that's what makes it much easier. If you have common sense you're going to put up some big offensive numbers.

I use a lot of 3-3-5 and 3-4. I've had more success with zone coverage than man, which is different than previous Maddens. I usually do zone or variations of 2 man under with 3-4, and most of my blitzes come from the OLBs in the 3-3-5. I don't have much luck getting sacks with my defensive line, despite having a very good line, so I blitz with OLBs and occasionally a DB.

I rarely use 4-3. It stops the run well for me, but they usually have a lot of success throwing.

I don't play online. So I'm fine with giving you my strategy. Haha

But it doesn't suck compared to NCAA, quite the opposite IMO. :tongue2:

LOL fair enough and thanks. Maybe I just need to get better :biggrin:. This is ridiculous, Josh McKown throwing 20-21 just shouldn't happen hahaha

So last night I did some messing around with the "Edit Player" feature in Franchise mode. I only edited positions, I don't think you can edit ratings. Either way, make Gholston a DE and he becomes a 94 overall DE. I drafted Joe Staley (LT) and made him a guard, he turned into a 91 I think. Now he's a 98 guard, after two sim seasons. It's cool to play around with those.

Mainly posting this because it makes Vern so much better. :)

Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely have to try that. Go back to the old-school day when I'd switch players from DE to MLB, back to DE on the fly. This years version has a kick-ass way to substitute, just press triangle when your selecting the play and it brings up a quick substitution menu.

Also, I know a lot of people hate that Madden IQ thing, but it has been pretty sweet for me. In years past I would alway go undefeated in my 'Chise and win by 4 or more TD's. My QB would end up with 400-500 yards a game and 5-6 td's. The only real fun was playing online against human opponents. This was on All-Madden...but I never adjusted sliders or anything...

I did the Madden IQ thing his year, and it was perfect. I'm 3-2, both losses coming as time expired. One loss came as the clock ran out and the reciever broke free for a 20 yard TD. The other game was on a last second filed goal. The scores have usually been close, 24-17 and stuff. Needless to say, its actually challenging now and fun. I'm loving '09...

I just want to say this now...

Fuck people that quit in madden when there gonna lose.

I'm 22/6 online play, I've had 6 people in the past week quit on me, including a guy I (defensively) bitch smacked when he was playing as the steelers.

I had a 21-10 lead and he turns the ball over on downs with 1:04 to go, I decide to just line up goal formation and run the ball left and let time go.

I get one first down, he doens't use a time-out - bam, just quits on me. I don't get the W. Sure, partial stats, but wtf is the point of playing the whole damn game for partial stats?

I've taken my losses like a a man, time for the rest of Madden nation to d do so. God damn pansies.o so. God damn pansies.

Call me dumb (Mili, this is where you come in) but I had no idea you could get the W by finishing out against the CPU....
