If Rutgers wins, they're in the BCS.
If they lose, BCS rankings will likely decide which team represents the Big Least in the BCS this year. Which will almost certainly be Louisville, who would be 26th in the BCS if the rankings went that far.
So either way, the Big East is about to be represented by a team that just said goodbye to the conference. Louisville is going to the ACC as of today, for those who haven't heard.
But the ineptitude in the Big East is the thing making Kent State's BCS shot a realistic one, since a top-16 Kent State team gets an automatic bid as long as they're ahead of these teams:
Boise State (#20 and playing Nevada this week), AND
Utah St (#24 and idle), AND
1 conference champion from the Big East, ACC or B1G (GT or Wiscy upsets should make that happen even if Rutgers or Louisville jump a top-16 Kent State)
