We have St. Jerome to thank for that.

The original Hebrew is 'Helel ben Shahar'. Shahar being the Ugaritian god of dawn & associated with the planet Venus aka the Morning Star.

What I mean is how did Isaiah 14:12 become associated with Satan? There was nothing wrong with Jerome's translation from the Hebrew to Latin because those reading it in Latin at the time would have understood that it was referring to the morning star. What I have never been able to pinpoint is when the passage became associated with Satan. From what I have read, the church fathers, including Jerome, understood Isaiah 14 to be an analogy to the Babylonian king. So, when afterwards, did it become associated with Satan? It appears to have occurred prior to Aquinas as he uses the name for Satan, but that only tells me that it occurred sometime between the 5th and 13th centuries.

There was a lot of controversy about Satan being the main character in Paradise Lost. I'm glad we've evolved beyond our 17th century sensibilities.

What I always found strange about Paradise Lost is that I do not find Satan as being a sympathetic character at all and I don't think it was Milton's intention to cast him as such; yet, I have seen a lot of criticisms of the work for painting him in a sympathetic light. I just don't get it.

This is ridiculously interesting but also I think way deeper than the show's producers expected their audience to go.

The real thought process of the producers, "OMG, he's like Satan and owns a nightclub. LOL."

Is the club supposed to be in Vegas? 'Cause I'm pretty sure all the clubs in Vegas are owned by Satan.
