College football conference championship, playoff scenarios: Charting every team's remaining path

LSU's path to the College Football Playoff: Win out

LSU is aiming to be come the first team to reach the final four with two losses this season and will do so by winning its final three games and then toppling unbeaten Georgia in Atlanta. How could the committee not put the Tigers in at that point as SEC champions with a wealth of big wins?

If a 2 loss LSU would beat a zero loss Georgia in the SEC CCG do you think LSU would get in the CFPs?

I think a close loss in The Game would give the committee something to think about.

1 loss Michigan or 2 loss LSU?

1-loss TUN with a win over … Illinois? Penn State?
2-loss LSU with wins over Alabama and Georgia

If we’re going by DSC or some other metric of who’s best, TTUN might still have a lead over them at that point but it would be closer than it is now. The body-of-work, résumé people would have a good argument for making LSU the first ever 2-loss team to make the playoff. Shades of 2007.

The committee would probably choose some other 1-loss team in the above scenario, unless it really is like 2007 and they run out of 1-loss teams

frankly, Bama is probably about like Penn State. LSU barely beat Auburn…..got destroyed at home by Tennessee…..lost to a decent FSU team. That does not smell like consistency or elite. Losing a close game to Ohio State and winning all the rest seems better to me

Question: What athlete at LSU rakes in the most NIL money?

It might just be LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne:

LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne celebrates being named one of most influential athletes

LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne is having a lucrative year.

Dunne, who celebrated her 20th birthday on Saturday, leads the top 10 female NIL moneymakers, according to On3 Sports’ proprietary NIL Valuation metric, which measures athletes by performance, influence and exposure.

Dunne is valued at $2.3 million, according to On3 Sports. Auburn gymnast Suni Lee was ranked No. 2 with $1.5 million, followed by UConn guard Paige Bueckers at $816,000.

The rising star gymnast took to her Instagram Story to share the list, per SideAction.com — and tagged her representation, WME Sports, as well as the official NIL Instagram account and LSU Athletics.

Dunne, who is a Hillsdale, NJ native, became a millionaire at the age of 18, with help from her massive social media following and skills as an all-around gymnast with the LSU Tigers.

Dunne is currently the most-followed female NCAA athlete with 2.2 million Instagram followers and six million more on TikTok. Her Twitter account also boasts more than 30,000 followers.

Following the NCAA’s name, image, and likeness (NIL) rule change last June, Dunne began securing a number of brand deals with clothing companies, food and beverage services, and more.
