Chris Polk looked like a stud.

Can't believe U-Dubs schedule, opening with LSU, Idaho, USC, then Stanford. Not a confidence builder by any stretch for a team that just went 0-12.

well, that wasn't exactly the way I wanted to start the season, but a win is a win, so I'll take it.

a few observations:

1. - play calling was waay to vanilla. When we opened it up, we moved the ball pretty good.

2. Charles Scott must have been castrated in the offseason. No idea why he was stopping and trying to dance before hitting the line. Hey Charles, you're 240 fucking pounds! Lower your shoulder and hit somebody!

3. T. Toliver may finally live up to the hype surrounding him when he first got to campus.

4. Prolly too early to fire the new DC, but holy sh!t we've got problems.

• tackling SUCKS
• soft zone leaving the middle WIDE ASS OPEN on 3rd and long SUCKS
• have a 315 pound DL covering a 180 pound RB in the flat has never been a good idea.
• actually, we haven't done a good job of covering a RB out of the backfield since the late '80s. Might be a good idea to look into fixing that.
• Tebow, any other halfway mobile QB, any team running the wildcat, etc. will eat our fucking lunch yet again. I mean could we at least have a guy or two attempt to keep the QB contained? Seriously, once he stepped outta the pocket, there wasn't a defender on my dam TV screen until he crossed the 1st down marker.

Anybody catch Les Miles' presser yesterday? He invoked the "we traveled 2,000 and across time zones" argument. I guess it's only a stupid argument when people use it against the SEC and southern bowl teams.
