LSU 30, Auburn 24 (final)

Count me among the LSU supporters for the rest of this year. I would love to see Tressel and Miles square off in a NC game. Teams tend to take on the personality of their coach. That in itself would be a huge advantage. There is still a lot of football to be played, but if we are able to finish off the big ten without a loss I would love to face LSU.

About that big gamble...

Any of you guys familiar with "The Big Play" on College Football Live?

Amazingly, the choice was NOT LSU's winning touchdown, but rather UCLA's pick six against Cal.

Wrong choice?

Wow. They must have forgotten how great the SEC is.

The SEC is so fast that ESPN can't give them an objective evaluation.

Cicero, I'm with you. I would love a match up with Mike the Tiger. I think our D closes them out.

I'm watching Urban on GD final. He pissed me off last year, but he is a classy dude (LM should take notes).

Auburn got "homered" last night!
LSU touchdown and flag. Not enough players on LOS!
No problem we'll just pick up the flag.(video showed not enough players was correct call)
LSU drive for winning touchdown, 3rd and long, WR is obviously short of first down but moves ball forward a couple feet. Ref doesn't move ball back to original spot and LSU gets first down by 6inches!
Auburn should be pissed!

Honestly, for much of the night it looked like Auburn was the team more comfortable with the moment than LSU. Of all that happened, that was the most surprising aspect of this game to my eyes.

LSU's touchdown to take a 20-17 lead was just another example of how terrible $EC refs truly are.

ESPN showed that they clearly only had 6 people on the line of scrimmage, meaning it should've been called back, but the stupidity of $EC refs showed true again, as they somehow believed that being 2 yards off the LOS is now considered on the LOS.

It's always nice to see a good fan from another program on here, to get a different perspective on those teams, so welcome. :)

This game just confirms to me what I already think of Miles -- he's doing a good job there in terms of retaining talent and winning games, but he's not my kind of gameday coach. It sounds like if he stays at LSU, then everyone will be happy. (Actually, I think that it's becoming a safer bet each week that Lloyd stays at TSUN in 2008).

At some point, his risk-taking nature is going to cost LSU this season. I was both impressed and shocked at some of the decisions he made during the Florida game. When it works, you're a genius. When it doesn't, fans buy "firelesmiles.com". I do think an OSU-LSU matchup would be a great game, and one that I'd like to see, but I don't think it's going to happen. If we fall, we're done. If LSU loses, it's going to be too late to make up the ground, unless no one loss teams remain. I think we'll have at least a few, but the way this season has gone, it's hard to tell. We may cycle through an entire top ten again.

As for Miles,.....He demolished Miami in a bowl game his first year, and Notre Dame his second year.

Don't hang the "Les Miles for Coach of the Year" flag on demolishing Notre Dame. Everyone beats Notre Dame in bowl games.

Also, I give LSU - the team - credit. I believe that they are the best team in the country, right now. However, as for the class of Les Miles, has he done anything to discipline his players for their dirty hits? I'm speaking specifically about the haymaker thrown by an LSU defensive player that gave Kentucky a first down in overtime. If that had happened on a majority of the rest of the teams in college football, that player would have been suspended at least one game. Was he ever suspended? I haven't heard of any suspension.

No, that was Tyson Jackson. I didn't see that as a particularly dirty play and I would be very very shocked if any player who did that got suspended for a game. It was a ridiculously dumb play on Jackson's part and Miles should have benched him for being an idiot. But a play like that doesn't result in a suspension.

But I do hope the Auburn kid gets suspended or something happens for nearly ending Dorsey's season, if not more, on this play: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlHdxUNc3kM"]YouTube - Retaliation on Gelnn Dorsey[/ame]
