LSU 23, Ole Miss 25 (final)

Nutria - are the Starting QB and RB returning to the lineup this week?

rumour has it that Jefferson will be ready and should start Saturday.

Charles Scott is done for the year (possibly back for Bowl game). Sucks for him. that guy played his heart out for 4 years for us. Was really just getting going in that Bama game, and appeared ready to put this team on his shoulders and carry them to the finish line.

If even remotely resemble the team that played against LaTech, we're gonna get prison raped.

this should really help the South's image:

KKK to Rally at Ole Miss vs LSU game

KKK will rally on Ole Miss' campus in protest of the Ole Miss Chancellor Dan Jones' decision to remove "From Dixie with Love" from the Ole Miss band's song selection.

"From Dixie with Love" is one of Ole Miss' traditional songs on game day, and the student section has chanted "the South will rise again" during the song for years

...

This decision to ban the song has drawn the attention of the KKK, which plans to protest the ban in full robes Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m, Tate said.

from same article:

The controversy began last month when the Ole Miss Associated Student Body passed a resolution in favor of discontinuing chanting ?the South will rise again? to replace it with ?to hell with LSU.?

they want the students to chant that, even when they ain't playing LSU.

an Ole Piss fan who trespasses on our board said he'll be shocked if Klan actually follows through with this.

Says they talk a lot of shit, get in the papers, but then rarely show up for their "rallies", so stay tuned to see if anything happens.

this has to be great for recruiting purposes.

coach (speaking to highly coveted black recruit): here is the Stadium where you'll be playing on Saturdays, here's the Grove where all your fans will be tailgating, ... um ... pay no attention to all those guys in white with the burning crosses

Overthrow by Jefferson, returned for a TD.

But the SEC refs are at it again. Clip called to negate the score (which could have easily beeen uncalled), and the defender diving into the endzone (with a tackler closing in, touching him as he takes off)... moves the ball back to the 30.

Dexter is so fun to watch.

Now they've reversed a second TD.

Shay Hodge was heading down the sideline, was pressed out of bounds, he came back in, and caught the TD. He was out of bounds by inches at most.

And what happens next? They block the punt for a TD return. 7-3 LSU instead of 10-3 Ole Miss like it should be.

It's remarkable how blatant they are in protecting their favorites.

Snead underthrows a wide-open WR down the sideline. LSU recovers, sets up their red zone defense, and holds them to a FG.

LSU has really fallen off the last few years.

question:
How are the college rules written regarding a catch?
Does he have to maintain possession throughout the fall like the NFL?

If so, that wasn't a catch anyway.
If not, the penalty was questionable, and probably could have went either way.

Dude did go out of bounds, but he was pushed. 4th step after push is when he went out. If it had only been 2, definite forced out. 3-4, could go either way. I'm glad that one went our way.

I'm with you on the dive, but block had to be called.
Happened in front of the returner. He even switched direction to go around the block.

Probably still would have scored since it was our QB, but the block affected whether or not he would have touched him.

You can call the clip. Given the conspiracy, it's easier to lump it in. A lot of those go uncalled on fumble returns though.

As for receptions, you have to maintain the catch all the way through the ground. It's a terrible rule. ND vs MSU, Floyd caught the ball, got his feet in, landed on his back, and then as he started to roll on the ground, the DB reached in (not before) and wrestled the ball free.

If he had been chucked 2-3 yards out of bounds, I think you could call illegal touching for not re-entering the field. But he was only a few inches out of bounds, he was shoved sideways multiple yards, and he was circling back into the field with his eyes back for the catch.

They must have heard me. Two reviews went Ole Miss' way on this drive.
