LSU 13, Ole Miss 31 (Final)

Good for Ole Miss. Classy move by the team taking a knee at the end. Don't think Urban or Miles would have done it.

Miles has done it before.
He's one of the reasons I quit betting on LSU.
Dude took a knee (year or 2 ago) inside the 15 yard line.
A FG would have covered the spread AND pushed the score above the over (my money was on both).
Dam I was pissed that day!

LSU had better fall out of the rankings this time....

We should have fallen last week. I don't give a shit what everyone else around us did. We were a miracle finish away from getting our ass handed to us fucking Troy.

Well, they can't take the NC away so a 7-5 rebuilding year would not be so bad, hate to admit it, but I would probably take one of the last two NC's and been unhappy, but not too unhappy with a 7-5, knowing that the talent is there for a return to prominence.

I've never been one of those guys calling for Miles' head after the bad loss to Tennessee in fall of 2005 and things like that. He delivered with consecutive 11-2, 11-2 and 12-2 seasons and helped continue LSU's "golden age" in college football this decade. But it is absolutely inexplicable to me why Jordan Jefferson was not playing earlier and playing more. Miles whole argument was that Jefferson was not ready to play in the SEC... watching this guy play against Ole Miss, he just looks like he belongs. He was way better than Lee, who has shown absolutely no improvement over the course of this season. I just don't understand why Lee continued to play and Jefferson couldn't even get in the game when it should have been obvious in practice and what not that Jefferson is just a better football player.

Anyway, it is what it is, the man got us a NC last year so we can't be too angry. Just frustrating to watch a tremendous amount of talent go to waste because of bad QB play and terrible defensive playcalling. Hopefully we get rid of the idiot co-defensive coordinators during the offseason and bring in some good young D-coordinator.

I would love to see Jefferson next year at QB and bringing in Russell Shepard (5* recruit from Texas) to run and throw in guys like Rueben Randle and DeAngelo Benton with the already bountiful talent on offense. And hopefully the new defensive coordinator knows what he's doing, because we certainly have more than enough talent on defense.

It was a rebuilding year, tough to get blown out by Florida, Georgia and Ole [censored], and lose to Bama in OT, but with the recruiting classes we've pulled and the one we're getting this year, which might be the best we've ever had, there's no doubt that we'll be back strong next year.

For now let's just own Arkansas and beat up on some crappy ACC team :)

quite simple really, and it made sense at the time the decisions were made.

While spring practice was happening, Jefferson was sitting in a High School classroom.
Fall camp comes around, and he's 3rd on the depth chart.
Stays that way through the 1st 2 games, no questions asked.
Lee plays a great 2nd half against Auburn, EARNING the starting job
Plays decent against Miss St.
Jefferson runs one play late, and bangs up his shoulder, prompting the team to plan on redshirting the kid.
As bad as people want to complain, he wasn't terrible at Florida (60% 210yds 2 TD 2 picks). No reason to pull him for an injured guy with 1 career attempt.
South Carolina he goes out and wins a game on the road, still no reason to pull him.
Georgia is where it got ugly. But during this game, we had Hatch coming in as the option type QB and Jefferson was STILL to be redshirted.
Hatch gets hurt in UGA game. You now KNOW that Lee is your guy no matter what for Bama game.
Therefore, you MUST give lEe as many snaps as humanly possible in Tulane game to prepare (this is why we didn't see much of Jefferson in Tulane game).
Bama game was horrible, but that is NOT the situation to throw in a kid with ZERO experience who probably also missed some practice time with his shoulder injury.

And for the record, JJ didn't look any better Saturday than Lee did in the 2nd half of Auburn.
Was Lee "ready"? Doesn't look like it.
Neither is Jefferson.
If you can avoid throwing yet another kid to the wolves and screwing up his head (like what happened to Lee), you avoid it.
