McQuaide reaches 14 seasons
Heyward wasn’t the only 14th-year NFL player from Ohio State to play in Week 10.
Jake McQuaide officially became a 14-year NFL veteran, tying Heyward for the longest-tenured NFL player from Ohio State, when he was elevated to the Minnesota Vikings’ active roster and made his first game appearance of the 2024 season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Filling in for the Vikings’ usual starting long snapper, Andrew DePaola, who was placed on injured reserve with a hand injury, McQuaide played an important role in the Vikings’ victory, snapping the ball back to John Parker Romo on all four of his field goals, the Vikings’ only points in their 12-7 win.
