Lovie's Illinois recruiting classes per Rivals (updated today):

2016: #67
2017: #48
2018: #50
2019: #71
2020: #88
2020: #79



Lovie is still going the transfer portal route.

Lovie's record at Illinois:

2016: 3-9 = 6th (B1G West)
2017: 2-10 = 7th (B1G West)
2018: 4-8 = 7th (B1G West)
2019: 6-7 = 4th (B1G West) Redbox Bowl loss to Cal

Well, he has improved Illinois' record over the last 3 years; last season they actually beat Wisky & Sparty, finished 4th in B1G West, and went to a bowl (and lost). That might be as good as it gets for Lovie at Illinois unless his recruiting really picks up. You just aren't going to win a lot of games in the B1G with a the 71st, 88th and 79th best recruiting classes.
