Louisville jumps over Bucks who remain at #9

Mili, I think that you have Va Tech too low, and Georgia and Miami too high. Granted, the Hokies have played exactly no one, but damn -- they've rolled people hard. No way that FSU is playing better ball right now.

You also have Louisville twice. At least you have MSU, ND and UM in a better order than the major polls. I'm also digging the fact that you only have one team from the BEast and no non-BCS pretenders.

The rest of it looks pretty good. In my world, you'd have a vote in a BCS poll, and a diligent personal assistant to double-check your ballot. :tongue2:

Is this the Harris Poll? or the BP Poll?....No?....Oh....ok then I don't care. They (AP & ESPN/USA Today) decided to make their polls irrelevant to the BCS, so I'm going to treat them that way, irrelevant. JMHO.

well, i'm watching the E!spin replay of the Louisville game right now... after spotting the Beavers a 10-0 lead, the Cards made a couple of adjustments on O and on D, and jumped to a 35-10 lead IN THE SECOND QUARTER... they effectively just ended the game by blocking a punt and then going down field on the next play... the result? a TD... with 2:25 to go in the half...

they are LEGIT. PERIOD. i don't care what conference they're in... they have a stud QB, a stud RB (both of whom we recruited the shit out of), a stud D-tackle, a stud 3-point LBer who can also drop back in coverage, solid WRs, well, i think you get it...

everyone keeps harping on the KY game... that's the best game the Wildcats have played in like 8 years, yet when the Cards needed a play, they got the job done... Dumervil (the stud LB/DE) had SIX sacks in that game, which i believe is an NCAA record...

finally, for a team that has as many close wins over the last 5 years, i would expect that Buckeye fans would be the LAST to point out margin of victory as a reason a team shouldn't be ranked that high...

Maybe this is irrational, but while I know that Louisville is very good, I just can't put them into BCS level poll positions. When you have to play a Big 10/Big 12/SEC schedule every week for 7 weeks or more, then you can be BCS elgible.

I know lesser leagues have produced good teams in the past: BYU, Utah State, Florida State and Miami and I know that those teams were often good enough to play with and beat big conference teams in bowl games or occassional ooc games, but they never proved to me that they could win in a top conference over the whole season.

i can see your point, and i will admit that the Big East is the weakest of the BCS conferences, but there are still some pretty decent teams in that league... that being said, the Cards DID play two BCS conference opponents OOC, which is more than you can say about 90% of the rest of the BCS schools...

i think it's a wash in conference... yeah, the Cards get to play the 'Cuse, and WVU, and UConn, and Cinci, but really, how mush easier is that than playing Stanford, Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, Old Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, Illinois, Washington, or any other number of bad BCS schools in conference?

if the Cards run the table, and look as dominant as they have so far, there is no way in my eyes that they are any less deserving than any other team in getting a shot at a Title... everyone says that Auburn deserved a shot at the Trojans last year, yet from the other side of their mouth said that the War Eagles didn't deserve it because they played The Citadel... you can't have it both ways... either the team plays everyone lined up in front of them, and wins, or they don't...SOS is overrated...

i can tell you this: if we played Louisville on Saturday the way we played SDSU, and they played us they way they played Oregon State, they would beat us. that's just how it is. we might be able to stop them some, if not most of the time, but they would stop us more...

The USA Today Coaches poll is still part of the BCS equation, and it could actually be even more relevant now that ESPN is no longer affiliated with it.

LVBuck, I don't think sos is as overrated as Margin of victory. Being in TX I am sick of people saying well TX is the best because they beat La Lafayette 60-3 so they are the best or Iowa beating Ball state by a huge margin or TX Tech last week. Everyone wants to have a potent offense , but Id rather see us play big ten pound it out football. When has tOSU ever been a team to run all over teams (run up the score)? I think its pitiful that teams feel they have to in order to get a better ran in the polls. Id rather win a good game at 13-3 vs last years TX scUM game with a high scoring nail biter where a missed FG loses the game for you. It doesn't matter how much you score if the defense cant stop the other team. Just ask TX tech in years past.
