Louisville 31, West Virginia 38 (final)

Why?

WVU fan? :roll1:

No.

I just think that Pat White did a nice job redeeming himself.

The turnovers, those huge shots he took, and he still ran 50 yards for the gane-winning touchdown with time running out in a crucial game!

THAT was a quality performance by a very good QB.

It all depends.

They have to outscore them.

Otherwise, no.

Against a long-established joke for a defense. Pretty typical big east shootout, imo. Big play offenses, undisciplined defense, and fundamentals that would make Ryan "Yards After" Mundy cringe (oh wait).

Good quarterbacks know how to pass the ball. Very good ones do so on a high level. White's passing ability is below average.

College football notebook: Mountaineers win on White's late run

Friday, November 9, 2007 3:38 AM

Associated Press

Pat White scored on a 50-yard run with 1:36 remaining to lift sixth-ranked West Virginia to a 38-31 victory over Louisville last night in Morgantown, W. Va.
The win allowed West Virginia (8-1, 3-1) to remain on Connecticut's heels for a spot in the Bowl Championship Series with three games left, including a key Big East game next week at Cincinnati.
Quarterback Brian Brohm brought Louisville from 17 points down in the second half, with the Cardinals tying it on Art Carmody's 37-yard field goal with 3:05 left. White, who also threw two touchdown passes, then capped a 65-yard drive with his run up the left sideline.

What Bearcat offense?
The one that is netting just under 38 a game - the Bearcats presently average 3 points less than West Virginia. Though, at home Cincy brings down 44 points, the 'Eers on the road 41 (rounded up to nearest whole number).

nice game to watch. WVU didn't look like the 7th ranked team.

Yeah... just sloppy...

Haven't read the whole thread... but... in addition to the fumbles.... and... using your fullback as a rugby punter... did anyone else feel like they killed drives on their own?

I mean... I think it was their second to last possesion (Maybe third) and they were 2nd and 6ish and they run that stupid play to their fullback on the edge and lose 4 or 5? Yeah... 3rd and ten is a great spot for an option team...

Baffling stuff all night.

Defense is bad... real bad.

Maroney, Barber. both start in the NFL. White? good luck. Slaton? umm, yeah...

Yes, that is true.

BUT look at some of these noteable Gopher games

The Wisky game where they screwed up a punt and had it blocked

2003 scUM game

No team in the history of bowl games has EVER blown a bigger lead than they did against Texas Tech in last year's Insight Bowl

Losing to FLORIDA ATLANTIC?!

Losing to NORTH DAKOTA STATE and making their scrub RB look like Beanie.

Number of Little Brown Jug wins in last 30 years: THREE! ('77, '86, 2005)
