I heard some ass say "Thursday Night is to College, what Monday Night is the NFL" on the air.

Not hardly.

The Big East is sure doing a good job convincing me they deserve to be considered a real conference by playing all of their big games on Thursday night.
I'm not conviced. The big E is to conferences what pluto is to planets. Louisville will probably beat Rutgers but i'm rooting for the big red.

Differential Statistical Analysis

The DSA breakdown of this game is a little weird, due to the lopsided nature of the Big East.

Taking each team's average offense and multiplying by the other team's average differential defense (average amount you hold a team below their usual output):
Louisville: 334 yards and 16 points
Rutgers: 336 yards and 27 points
Taking each team's average defense and multiplying by the other team's average differential offense (average amount by which you exceed your opponents' average defense):
Louisville: 338 yards and 23 points
Rutgers: 306 yards and 18 points

FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY

While Differential Offense suggests Louisvill wins by 5 points, Differential Defense shows an 11 point advantage for the Scarlet Knights.

While my experience with DSA shows that both methods have a roughly equivalent average error over the long run, Differential Defense has a considerably higher correlation to winning.

Also, this is raw DSA. Home Field Advantage has not been accounted for. Last year, DSA of every Div. IA game showed that HFA was worth about 4.5 points; not the 3 points that most "experts" claim.

After having spent a few hours on the louisville boards, please rutgers... save us from 50+ days of interactions with these fans.
