Losing Early, Now What Needs to Happen - 2010 Chaos Theory

starBUCKS

BPCFFB League #2 League Champion 2008 & 2010
If things fall the way they should, I think OSU checks in at #10 this week, making them the second highest 1 loss team.

Being that it is about mid-season, there's still time to get back in things.

LSU, Alabama and Auburn beating on each other will drop no less than 2 of those teams. If things go good... all 3.

Also between Utah and TCU, one will eliminate themselves.

That brings us up to #7.

Also take into consideration the conference championship games in the SEC and BIG 12. And with all 3 of the SEC teams being in the SEC West, pray that either South Carolina or Florida could help eliminate whoever prevails.

Here are the games to keep a close eye on IMO

Oregon- @ USC, UA and @ Orgeon St.

Personally I don't think Oregon makes it through unscratched, USC looked real good today, then the Civil War game are two games to watch

Boise State- Hawaii, Fresno, @Nevada, Utah St

This is a joke, the best shot is st Nevada, and that would be a mild surprise. Hawaii, Fresno and Utah St have decent squads, but Boise will be 10+ point favorites in those games.

TCU- @Air Force, @ Utah

The Utah game is the one to circle, Air Force is ranked, but not overly impressive.

Oklahoma- @ Mizzou, Texas A&M @ Oklahoma St, (*Conference Championship)

While Oklahoma has looked good most of the year, they still beat Cincy, Air Force and Utah St by one score or less. Definitely beatable.. plus they have the conference championship game if they win out.. where they could possibly meet our new friends... Nebraska.

Auburn- LSU, @ Alabama, (*Conference Championship)

They've looked solid, but there's a long road to go in the SEC.. Either them or Alabama will lose to the other, if not... hope for a loss in the SEC Championship game.

Alabama- @ LSU, Auburn, (*Conference Championship)

See above

LSU- @ Auburn, Alabama, @ Arkansas, (*Conference Championship)

They haven't won any games impressively... and probably will lose 2/3 above games.

Utah- @ Air Force, TCU, @ Notre Dame

I haven't had a chance to watch Utah, from the looks of things they've blown out a lot of bad teams, while needing overtime to get past Pitt. ND rolled Pitt... will it equate? I'll pull for them to beat TCU and then hopeful Kelly's boy's or Air Force can handle them.

Mich St- @ Iowa

This game will be huge, and we need Iowa to win. I don't agree with those that want to see them win out...

Overall, I think Boise is the least likely to lose... but we only need 5-6 of these things to happen, with a long way to go. And of course, tOSU can't slip up again!

GO BUCKS!

So what happens if Boise and TCU are the only undefeated? If they played for the title, some people would go crazy!

I would LOVE for TCU and Boise to make it in over a 1 loss Auburn or Oklahoma just to hear the inevitable shit storm. I also wouldn't mind seeing TCU win a National Title. I actually think they're a solid football team. Much more so than Boise at least. I'd rather every year be about "is TCU the real deal" than "are the smurf turf durfers a top team".

If you're still talking "NC" I think you're asking for a helluva lot. We need a ton of help, and given our last two NC games we're not going to get the benefit of the doubt.

But if we're going to have any such hopes we have to win the Big Ten first. To do that, we need to win out of course, and we need losses for Sparty and Wiscy. As luck would have it, they both have road games at Iowa. I think the Hawkeyes are our best friends now, until we play them. If they can beat the Badgers and Spartans, a win for us in Iowa City opens the door to the BCS for the Buckeyes.

We're still alive, so let's beat the shit out of Purdue next Saturday.

If Ohio State can't make the title game, then I'll pray for anarchy. Boise St or TCU crashing the party is the quickest way to blow up this stupid system, so go BSU and TCU!

Anyone remember 2007? Our loss happened a lot later in the season............I'll leave it at that.
It's theoretically possible, but my hopes for a BCS title appearance this year are gone. 2007 didn't have the prospect of Boise St. and/or TCU going to the title game over a 1-2 loss team from a major conference.

I'd rather the season not play out like that again. If it does that means there are a lot of mediocre football teams out there and whoever wins the title game is simply the least of these. I'd be perfectly happy with the title game being between two unbeaten teams and us picking up another Rose Bowl win (preferably against Oregon again).

After 2006 & 2007, OSU would need every team in the SEC to have two losses. OSU will not jump a one-loss SEC team on principle, and neither LSU or Auburn have lost a game yet. Boise, TCU, Oregon, and probably Oklahoma will all have one loss at worst, it seems. Then there's Michigan St.

I just don't see it happening.

Damn good point, its gonna be hard enough to make it to a BCS bowl. Can you guys imagine a 1 loss OSU team in the Capital One Bowl with undefeated MSU in the BSC NCG, that would be disgraceful.

Assuming Ohio State doesn't lose another game, I don't think there's any chance that they don't get a BCS bowl.

As much as I hate to say it...I think a BSU/TCU NC game might actually be what's needed. Ticket sales would be atrocious, or at least if they "sell out" I would guess less than 80-75% would show up. Wouldn't that be a sight on the TV to the less than stellar viewer count to see a very empty upper deck for the biggest game of the year while all the other bowls have better attendance. The bowl sponsors would not WANT to select at Boise/TCU, and the media might finally stop tooting that "underdog" horn.

Of course, I still want the Bucks playing for the crystal in the desert, but if that doesn't happen, I want a BSU/TCU matchup that sets record lows so low that no one in the bowl system will want to touch that kind of a situation again.
