Looking for Short Term Housing in DC

  • My daughter just got an internship with the Pan Am Health Organization this summer and is looking for a furnished place to live for about 4 months in DC. The internship is unpaid...:smash:, so we need something affordable. PAHO is located in Foggy Bottom not to far from the White House. She also needs to be close to mass transit.

I guess some of the Universities have open dorms that can be used.

Thanks in advance for your help BP!

DC is an expensive place. She is probably best off finding other summer interns/clerks and subletting a place from students at GW or Georgetown. I shared a summer place with 3 other folks (a long long time ago) near Georgetown (Glover Park). No metro, but a direct bus to where I needed to get right in front. Craigslist may give you an idea of what to expect, but I'd check out GW and Georgetown web sites for summer student housing. Other schools are farther out, but may be cheaper. There are group homes in the area that are usually looking for people as well.
