i'm aware that other religions have the rags too, but my point is that everyone in the middle east needs to be warned that they are going to die then we need to follow through

Slow down there, iam. Finding the scum that carries out these types of activities involves more of turning over lots of rocks as opposed to one bomb. Israel is in the Middle East and they as a nation have been battling terrorists since their creation. The 9-11 terrorists were hiding out in Afghanistan, which is part of Asia.

This fight against terrorism is unfortunately going to be a very long one that has to be fought on many fronts. It would be nice if some of this fight could send a very forceful and very visible message warning that the gloves are off dealing with terrorists.

It would be nice if security personnel on airlines, subways, buses, etc. could racial profile, as well. Then maybe more of these sick fucks would be caught before setting off the bombs...but no, the ACLU will put a quick stop to that. And Lord knows we better not "forcibly interrogate" a suspected mass murderer, as that would be violating his rights. Bullshit.

What I don't think these assholes counted on, but was pointed out on the BBC site. There will be backlash against the muslim community in Britain, and probably to a smaller extent again here in the US. I would also imagine the all the fence sitters in Europe on the "War on Terrorism" have a renewed resolve. My deepest sympathies go out to the victims and Britain, but I think in the long term the fucking rag heads just screwed themselves.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, britain had been starting to waiver a little bit and I think that the attack will definitly push the ones that were on the fence back to the U.S. Of course if that is the case how long before some conspirosy theory comes out that the U.S. was secretly behind the attacks for that exact reason.

I am sure some moron will bring that up, but in light of everything that has happened to our country... not even our government is that fucked up.

Ever before I was able to hear any news this morning, I figured something must have happened. The subway and train stations were swarming with cops here in Boston this a.m. Yesterday the Brits were so excited about scoring the Olympics, and now this happens. So sad.

Just finished talking with my sister and I'm happy to report that of four friends and family who would have been in London all but one had coincidentally business out of the city today. Sister still trying to get a handle on whereabouts of her son's fiancee, though with still spotty cell phone service thatis a bit of an uphill battle.

Sisters sister-in-law was one of those who was on a day-off to get work done on her country house, otherwise she would have been close to the legall and financial districts (i.e. close to "ground zero"). S-in-Law of sister did receive word from a colleague asking her to call. 2 messages sent (Blackberry) -- she's tried to respond but no confirming receipt, all hoping this is just the bandwidth starvation that has hit cell networks while security and emergency services grab the airwaves.

General opinion in UK is that the coincidence points to G8 summit opening as symbolic tie-in.

they made a huge mistake today in bombing London (whoever 'they' turns out to be)

This will only solidify the resolve of the British people, and hopefully some other members of the G8 will see the light and realize it's only a matter of time before they are the victim of this kind of terrorism, or worse.
Hopefully, they will not wait, like many in this country are still willing to do, until something even worse (WMD attack) happens in their country before they decide to take a little preventative medicine, spend some insurance money, and make a moderate sacrifice now instead of waiting until the cancer has spread into all their vital organs and they have to perform emergency surgery, requiring a huge sacrifice in both lives and capital.

Did anyone else watch "Mind of Mencia" (sp) on Comedy Central last night? I watched about the first half of it and it was all about racial profiling. He said on 9/11 blacks and hispanics were finally accepted as Americans and replaced on the hate list by Arabs. It was pretty funny in a wrong sort of way.
Arabs complain about being profiled, but they are blowing most of the shit up? I'm all for letting security personnel do anything that increases the chances of stopping this stuff before people die.
I guess I'm lucky that I was able to travel through Europe before all of this started. I miss the good old days when the worst thing you had to worry about was a Gypsy picking your pocket.
