Tommy's Pizza. It's all right, but there's at least 5 other places around campus that are better. The oldtimers always say it's a must to stop there when coming back to campus.
Awful post. Completely disagree.
You probably don't relax or trust coaches.
You're constitution towards pizza is weak.
You speak for nothing.
BTW Mike Hart is a whiner. Not very Tressel-like.
Go to hell ASSHOLE with love.

Local worth the hype:
-Panini's/Primanti Bros. (all the same to me) sandwiches are amazing. Just started eating them this year.
-Skyline coney's - I don't get the whole chili on pasta thing, but I love the skyliners. The only thing better is to buy a can of the chili and put it on Nathan's hot dogs.
-Handel's Ice Cream
-East Coast Custard
-Parasons is good cheap Italian in the Akron area
-Rockne's (except for the ghetto one downtown Cuyahoga Falls that isn't part of the chain.) If you haven't been there one order of fries is good for 2. I'm a big eater and I go with the half sandwich, soup, and split an order of fries with the wife.
-Dibella's Subs - If you are in any of these cities and are looking for something to eat give it a try. DiBella's Old Fashioned Submarines I've never had a real Philly Cheese-steak, but I can't imagine a better sandwich than the Dibella's Cheese-steak.

Agree 100% with Handel's, Parasons, and Rockne's.

Barberton chicken - bestest ... White House #1, rest tied for #2.. I miss them but wasteline does not miss them

This is one of the big ones I don't get. First, what is up with so many fried chicken joints? Second, how can anyone think the chicken from White House or Belgrades is any good? Its more like fried grease with pieces of chicken dropped in it. :sick1:

My own preference for fried chicken in the area are Leonardo's in Fairlawn and Pizzinos in Stow.

And one other related question, where does the term Jo Jo's come from and does anyone outside of the Akron area even use this term?

To answer your last questions I don't think so.

Pretty much concur on previous posts...

Luigi's is OK... was great in college cuz they were open so late
Swensons is OK... bit sweet but different enuf that I like them
Parassons - best value in town
I am covering my ears about Stricklands... I refuse to believe they have changed... I am in denial... waaaahhhh
Rockne's Firestone salad... man did I like those

Barberton chicken - bestest ... White House #1, rest tied for #2.. I miss them but wasteline does not miss them

Tangiers - OK .. you go there for the atmosphere.. not the food
Ken Stewarts is pretty good .. mostly due to the sauces
Diamond Grill is pretty good .. not sure it deserves the rave it gets

Ohhh.. and I have had the real deals in Philly Cheesesteaks... but there's a couple greasy dives near Princeton U that gives them a run for their money... you can easily make your own that will beat anything you can buy.. if you start out with better meat, everything else is easy

Now being in the Princeton, I assume you have been to Sorrento's Subs in Freehold.

NJ has its downsides, but subs are not one of them.

That's you're opinion.

I lived across the street for two years and went there once.

I am going to have to agree with you CleveBucks. Flying Pizza was better before the young kid bought it from the original owner. Catfishs, Planks, and Adriaticos were also considered before I ordered from Tommy's Pizza.

I understand the "prestige" (if you want to call it that) behind Tommy's Pizza, but it was never that great for me.

FWIW, the one on High street isn't Flying Pizza any more. There is a Flying Pizza on bethel rd run by the nephew of the guy who ran the one on High.(Sal) Sal did work the one on High St. for quite a while.

Also they have relatives and other Fly Pies in the Dayton area..

Pizza is such a personal taste sort of thing. I happen to love Tommy's, but it's obviously not for everyone.

Anyone who has been to Pittsburgh and had a pie from Vincent's Pizza Park has had the anti-Tommy's. One slice of that is about 2,000 calories, weighs about 12 oz. and is loaded with cheese, sauce, meat and (clearly) saturated fat. I can't stand the stuff, but many people swear by it.
