List who will finish 1, 2, and 3 next year

well obviously you know that, i was just saying that behind the comment about usc losing a lot of players.
Ah yes, but USC's losses are profound and on both sides of the ball; RB, QB, DB, and O-line. Our offense is back, and our defense is being restocked with guys who have all had playing time last year. Hardly a "green" defense.

As far as my top three:

1. THE Ohio State University
2. LSU
3. Texas

tOSU/LSU NC game would be nuts, and I think it would satisfy the hunger for a premier Big-10/SEC matchup. Getting the chance to destroy Chokelahoma in a bowl game would also be sweet.

1) tOSU
2) Oklahoma
3) Florida or LSU - whoever wins the title game.

Having said that, I'd really like to see us play an SEC team, and kick the snot out of them. But I really think that USC doesn't make it, lost too much, plus all the hoopla going on in tinseltown, Texas takes two losses, WVU maybe, but I don't think they have the horses (or the media backing), and Miami is always interesting, but from what I'm reading, the program is in a decline, kinda like Florida State. Tennessee's a non-factor, and Louisville will fall to WVU. If we can run the Big Ten (and Texas), then OSU can be in. Nobody else in the Big 12, Big Least, or ACC (think Fla St and Fla will cannibalize the Miami/Fla St/Fla round up). Va Tech maybe, but they lost their sparkplug in Vick. Pac 10? USC may take a fall (UCLA or Cal), and we'll see how they handle Nebraska early on.

Get tired of hearing how great the SEC is, but I'm turning blue in the face from waiting for all those SEC scholarships to evaporate because of the student/athletes (HAH!) not keeping up on grades/class standing/graduation rate.

My humble apologies, OregonBuck:bow: . Should never underestimate Bellotti up there. He got that big back from Washington last year, and manages to put together some pretty competitive teams. If those green and yellow uniforms would be worth some points to plant USC with an "L", I'll holler from the rooftops. That said, Cal can be had, they've got a great RB and a senior QB, plus a receiver that escaped the clutches of Petey (plus a good O-line), but they can be had. UCLA is probably second place, but with Colletto as an offensive (yes, very offensive) coordinator, they cannot be rated highly. Udub doesn't have the horses, as they all fled to Cal or Oregon, regardless of what a clean program Tyrone runs.

That said, Go Ducks! Errrr, I mean Bucks!

Interesting. Not slamming, but how'd you come up with this ranking? I assume that since Texas is not in your top three, you're saying we beat them. With you having us beating Texas and us ending at #3, are you saying we run the table and yet finish behind LSU and ND?

Nope, I think OSU will lose to Texas. But I think Texas definitely loses to Oklahoma this year, and I think the young QB situation makes them lose a game they shouldn't. I'm thinking maybe @ Nebraska, the first real road game the green QB's will face. They may lose a 3rd, to either OkSU or aTm.

I think OSU has two early losses (@ Texas, @ Iowa) and runs the table from there, winning the Rose Bowl to finish #3. I think Notre Dame loses to either PSU or mich, and runs the table until the bowl game. Their schedule is not that tough and their road games are a cakewalk until SC at the end of the year.

LSU is sort of a wild guess, but they return a lot of talent and the SEC I think will be down this year. Alabama caught fire last year but loses Croyle. Not sure on Prothro's status either. I'm not sold on Auburn or anyone else in the West. In the East, Georgia has nobody at QB, Tennessee is a joke, and I just can't see Florida being that tough. LSU has nobody out of conference either, Fresno being the toughest. They may have the easiest final half of the season of any legitimate contender, so if there is a loss it'll probably be early in the year.

Thank you. Best to pay your respect to the mighty Oregon Ducks! That big back you're referring to is Jonathon Stewart. He's a specimen to say the least. I think he'll be a first rounder even if he never has a great year because of the sick numbers he's going to put up at the combine and pro day. Mike Bellotti has to be the most unappreciated coach outside of Oregon. He's posted a near .700 record at a school that doesn't really sell itself when it comes to fooball history. He's also taken taken them to their highest final ranking ever(#2 in 2001). Plus, he's won 3 Pac-10 titles. I'm glad UO and Phil Knight we're able to keep him from being lured away to the bigger programs like USC.

Watch out for the "Quack Attack"

You're right OregonBuck. Bellotti is doing a heckuva job recruiting to a 'basketball school' with not much more than some really beautiful countryside to help sell it. Wasn't Bellotti wooed by tOSU, but decided to stay at Oregon?

We'll see if he abandons his spread offense (maybe keep the ends and backs wide and bust Stewart up the middle. I predict that Oregon will play the role of spoiler this year, and here's hoping they hang an "L" on USC.......

Make no mistake, folks, the Oregon schools (Ducks AND Beavers) are fiercely loyal to their schools. At least the ones I play golf with here in California......
