There's a radio guy here who played for Mooooch for a couple of years. He said that Moooch was great with veteran players, but relied on the veteran players to self-police the younger guys so he wouldn't have to deal with them. So, what job does he take? The Lions, where most players, espcially skill guys, are young...and immature.

Toss in the fact that he brought in his own guy to play QB, he got hurt, had to toss in the guy he was basically throwing under a bus until Garcia came back...and sucked, and this entire enterprise was doomed from the start.

On a high note, I'm sure this will open up opportunities to take at least 6 receivers high in the draft next year.

Anyone think he'd consider taking John L. Smith's gig?

The first thing I thought about was Mariucci to MSU. But after reading Bucklion's post regarding him preferring to deal with the vets, and not the young guys, maybe not. If he doesn't like to deal with the younger NFL types, imagine dealing with immature college players. Maybe TV is in his future, ESPN might need another pro analyst soon.:wink2:
