Researching the Magic!
Since no one else has chimed in on the pure awesomeness of a new camera and some equally awesome imaging tech, I guess I will. If any of you are familiar with light field imaging, then you know some of the ridiculous advances and innovations that are theoretically possible. Someone managed to take LFI from the lab and expensive equipment to a more affordable option direct to the consumer. The result is the Lytro Light Field Camera.
They have managed to make a camera that results in an image format that allows you to natively change the focus and depth of field to the image after you have taken it. This is beyond photoshopping, and I can't wait to (eventually) get my hands on one to play with it. Check it out, and you can play with the focus/DOF in their gallery.
