High School Licking Valley Panthers

Football: Licking Valley 21, Beloit West Branch 7; halftime


The Panthers lead the Warriors at halftime of their Division III regional semifinal at Wooster?s Follis Field.

After a scoreless first quarter, LV got on the board first with a 20-yard run by Storm Klein to cap a 90-yard drive.

The Warriors tied the score with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Steve McNeely to Jase Uyselt, but Valley retook the lead two plays later on a 57-yard scoring run by Josh Bailey.

Two plays later, Greg Christo-Baker recovered a West Branch fumble. Klein scored from 6 yards out three plays later.

Klein had 97 yards rushing in the first half, and Valley had 203 rushing yards as a team.

McNeely had 174 passing yards in the first half.

Valley football wins, advances to state semifinals

NEW PHILADELPHIA ? Licking Valley football coach Randy Baughman might have been using some hyperbole Friday.
But who could blame him after the Panthers went toe-to-toe with No. 1 Canal Fulton Northwest and a drive for the ages by the Valley offense proved to be the difference in a 21-17 Valley victory.

Klein?s second touchdown gives Valley lead

Storm Klein scored his second touchdown of the game early in the fourth quarter and then threw the 2-point conversion halfback pass to Nick Phillips to put Licking Vallley up 21-14 against Mentor Lake Catholic in a Division III state football semifinal at Massillon?s Paul Brown Stadium.
Klein?s 20-yard touchdown run came on a fourth-and-1 play with 10:35 left. It gave Klein 131 rushing yards for the game

Way to go Panthers. 1 more boys 1 more. 1 more game for what you guys have worked for since 7th grade. Stay focused practice hard go up to Stark county and leave it all on the field. You do that and I know you will be the ones holding the big trophy above your heads.

Drew Ryan completed 7 of 7 passes for 170 yards and three touchdowns and scored on runs of 14 and 16 yards to lead host Licking Valley (2-1) over Cambridge (1-2).
Ohio State recruit Storm Klein rushed for 113 yards and scored on a 30-yard run and a 54-yard pass.
