You ask, we answer. Sometimes we ask, others answer. And then other times, we ask, we answer.
Throughout the Ohio State football season, we will be asking and answering questions about the team, college football, and anything else on our collective minds of varying degrees of importance. If you have a question that you would like to ask, you can tweet us @LandGrant33 or if you need more than 280 characters, send an email HERE.
There is real-life Ohio State football to be played on Saturday, my friends, and I could not be more juiced up for it. Yeah, it’s just a game against the lowly Akron Zips who have gone a combined 4-and-20 in Joe Moorhead’s two seasons as head coach, but it is an honest-to-goodness intercollegiate football contest featuring the Ohio State Buckeyes, and nothing will prevent me from being excited.
Assuming you are feeling the same type of buzz that I am, we’ve got two questions about this weekend’s game in our fan survey. One requires some shrewd football deduction and the other is a bit more of a lucky guessing game. So, check out the questions below and then fill out the survey at the bottom of the article.
I realize that I didn’t put every possible player who could score Ohio State’s first touchdown of the season in the survey below, but I tried to get as many of the possible candidates in there as I could. I paid equal deference to both the offense and defense, because as good as Jim Knowles' side of the ball is and how bad Akron’s offense is, it very well might come from a pick-six or scoop and score.
However, if the person that you want to predict as the first Buckeyes to make it into the end zone is not on the list, feel free to add your pick in the comments at the bottom of the article. Just for wolverines and giggles, I’m going to give that honor to TreVeyon Henderson on a 29-yard run on the Buckeyes’ first offensive series.
Look, Ohio State is going to win this game and they are going to win it handily. The Buckeyes are more than seven-touchdown favorites over the Zips and even that feels a bit generous to the visiting squad. Normally, I am hesitant to take OSU when they are this type of monstrous favorite because that is a whole hell of a lot of points, and it’s Akron, Day’s not really going to go out of his way to layeth the smacketh down.
However, I am on record saying that the Buckeye defense will surrender less than 10 points per game this season, and for them to do that, they are almost certainly going to have a shutout or two on their resume this fall. So, I am going to assume (as silly as that might be) that the Zips score zip on Saturday, and the offense averages two TDs per quarter. If that’s the case, not only would they cover, they would do so comfortably by a score of 56-0. Let us know your pick in the survey below.

Question 1: Who scores the first touchdown of the season for Ohio State?
I realize that I didn’t put every possible player who could score Ohio State’s first touchdown of the season in the survey below, but I tried to get as many of the possible candidates in there as I could. I paid equal deference to both the offense and defense, because as good as Jim Knowles' side of the ball is and how bad Akron’s offense is, it very well might come from a pick-six or scoop and score.

Question 2: What will the margin of victory be in Saturday’s game?
Look, Ohio State is going to win this game and they are going to win it handily. The Buckeyes are more than seven-touchdown favorites over the Zips and even that feels a bit generous to the visiting squad.
