looks like if this game is close that bush will win the heisman for sure if he carries the whole load this week. white is questionable im guessing.

LOS ANGELES -- Just six days before top-ranked USC tries to beat archrival UCLA, lock up a Rose Bowl berth and get one step closer to a national championship three-peat, the Trojans got a major scare at practice Sunday.
Junior LenDale White, the thunder to Reggie Bush's lightning in USC's vaunted backfield, had to be carted off the field after an apparent left shoulder injury.

The severity of the injury at this point is unknown. Coach Pete Carroll said that White got dinged and will be evaluated Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound White, who's rushed for 1,024 yards and 19 touchdowns, was shaken up in the early part of Sunday's practice. He was injured on what seemed to be a normal play; however, he pulled up, dropped the football and went down holding his shoulder.

White lay on the field for several minutes while being attended to by team trainers. He appeared to be in a lot of pain.

Bush -- who has already carried the ball 163 times (20 more than he did in all of 2004) and run for 1,398 yards -- said if White is unavailable, that would obviously mean he'd have to carry the ball even more against the Bruins.

"But hopefully," he added, "everything will be all right with him and that won't have to be the case."

In the Trojans' last outing, against Fresno State, Bush ran for 294 yards and had 513 all-purpose yards. He ran for 204 yards on only 15 carries last year against UCLA in a 29-24 Trojans victory.

White was unavailable for comment.

Not saying he did anything bad and deserves this......but they tempted the gods with that stupid prank. Hope he's good to go and everything is OK.

this is very big. Pete Carroll tries to pad Bush's stats by putting him in there on 1st and goal (from a few yards out)... and most of the time he cannot plow his way in there. Lendale even complained about it early on, and he's usually a pretty laid back guy.

UCLA should still lose, but they may have to go back to the Leinart run with a push from Bush play.

Carted off the filed with a shoulder injury

That was my first thought too...sometimes a severe stinger numbs the entire side of your body though.

We had a kid a few years back who was laying on the field in agony. We never let them lay on the field unless it is major...anyway, the coaches get him up and he dramatically limps off the field to a huge round of applause. I ask the defensive coordinator over the headsets what was wrong with him...."oh, he got poked in the eye."

I wanted Notre Dame before, but if USC were to lose to UCLA now... I would kill to have a shot at beating them!!!

I don't think that could happen unless the Fiesta took USC with the first pick and the Orange took ND with the second. Well actually if that did happen we would definitely get to play USC in the Fiesta because they wouldn't be allowed to take 2 Pac 10 teams. I doubt the Fiesta would take USC over ND.

USC's a pretty huge draw, even despite ND's ridiculously large fanbase. It would also give them the freedom to not consider oregon (and not be hounded for it), since it would not be allowed. I don't know that I disagree with you, just playing the devil's advocate.
