LB Raekwon McMillan (Official Thread)

I was at the game. Kwon had a great all around game. There were times when special teams was on the field and he was motioning to players to improve their formations and convening with coaches... the guy is football savvy in all three phases. On an unrelated note, the Freshman, #4 Richard LeCount is a big time prospect. He plays safety, returns kicks and lined up as receiver/pivot and QB on a few snaps and is LEGIT. Some local guys who coached him said he is a bit of a showoff and is a handful but if his Dad keeps him on the straight an narrow you can bet you will see his name pop up in a year or so... no doubt about it. Heard some real good stories about Kwon from older rec league coaches that knew him, haven't heard anything but "humble" "student of the game" "leader".

Three-way tie for No. 1 spot with Georgia's top linebacker
By Michael Carvell

What’s the latest with Raekwon McMillan? He’s the state’s No. 2 overall football prospect.

We caught up this weekend with the 5-star linebacker from Liberty County High School.

  • Which college leads for McMillan? Is it Ohio State?
  • Or has Alabama moved in front?
  • And what about Clemson? McMillan was impressed with Clemson when he visited for the UGA game.
  • On a scale of 1-10, how would he rank his Clemson visit?
  • And what about UGA? His high school coach at Liberty County played football for the Bulldogs.
  • And which SEC school that McMillan hasn’t really mentioned … is he thinking about visiting later this month?
McMillan talks about all of that, and more, in the video. His official visit schedule is UGA on Sept. 28, Clemson on Oct. 19, Ohio State on Oct. 26, Alabama on Nov. 9 and Florida on Nov. 30.

Senior and five-star recruit standout Raekwon McMillan led the defense with 13 tackles, four for loss. More impressive are the numbers that the highly touted linebacker put up for the Panther offense.

McMillan scored three of the Panthers’ touchdowns on carries of 40, 50 and three yards. He finished the contest with 11 carries for 122 yards.

I'm fairly confident Ohio State leads with Raekwon - but never let it be said UGA didn't go down without a fight.
The Chef took a visit with 5 star DE and OSU offer Lorenzo Carter this weekend and had a blast.

"5 Star rates his UGA visit a "10""

Like most of the recruits in attendance, the AJC Super 11 selection was impressed with LSU win. “I got to watch them beat up on LSU,” McMillan said. “It was one of the best atmospheres for college football that I’ve ever seen. The Georgia fans really stepped up. They came early to the game, they were loud, and they really showed the Dawg Nation a lot of love.”

Not surprisingly, McMillan was recognized by numerous UGA fans who follow recruiting closely. “They recognized me right off the bat. They were telling me to stay in-state and play for Georgia.”

“I feel like Coach Richt didn't feed me any BS. And I liked that about him. And my parents loved him, too. It was their first game at Georgia and they enjoyed everything.”

“It was 10. Everything was great. They really rolled out the red carpet for me, and showed me everything I wanted to see.”

Linebacker to soak up atmosphere
By Bill Rabinowitz
The Columbus Dispatch
Friday October 25, 2013

RICHARD BURKHART | SAVANNAH (GA.) MORNING NEWS
  • Raekwon McMillan has visited Ohio State several times.

But the No. 1 inside linebacker prospect in the country hasn’t seen the Buckeyes play at night, with Ohio Stadium in all its glory.

McMillan will do so this weekend when he travels from Hinesville, Ga., for his official visit while Ohio State plays host to Penn State.

“Just being in the atmosphere is what I’m looking for,” McMillan said.
