same here... I'm a little suprised that they cut him. They matched Detroits offer to him last year to keep him so I figured he would be around for another year or so. He has been getting injured more often over the last few years though. Best of luck to Nails in Carolina... one of my all time favorite Buckeyes.ScarletBlood31 said:Damn. I was hoping for a Diggs-Hawk linebacking duo in Green Bay.
Arrington just signed with the New York Giants... he won't be in Green Bay. But Diggs, Hawk and Nick Barnett would have been a nice LB Corp.BuckTwenty said:That would have been a crazy Big Ten linebacking trio- Diggs, Hawk, and LaVar Arrington. Ouch.
Best of luck Na'il in Carolina!! Love watching you play!
PANTHERS: Carolina Panthers starting outside linebacker Na'il Diggs suffered a right knee injury in the first quarter of Carolina's 19-10 victory over Miami.
The former Ohio State standout collapsed to the field while playing on special teams during a punt. He stayed on the ground for several minutes before limping off the field.
Panthers outside linebacker Nai'l Diggs suffered what appeared to be Carolina's first significant injury of the preseason. Diggs injured his right knee while playing on the punt team in the first quarter. Diggs was eventually taken into the locker room on a cart and did not return. CHARLOTTE -- Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Na'il Diggs sprained his right knee against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night.
The injury was not as serious as first thought, the team said Friday. He had an MRI test and is listed as day-to-day.
Diggs got tangled up with Miami defenders on the line of scrimmage during a punt in the first quarter of Carolina's 19-10 win over the Dolphins.
"I got tripped up on the line, and it got twisted up," said Diggs, who was on crutches and wearing a knee brace after the game. "I'm just going to take it day by day."
The Panthers signed Diggs away from Green Bay in the offseason to help fill the spot vacated when Will Witherspoon went to St. Louis. Diggs started the first three preseason games and appeared to have beaten out Keith Adams and rookie James Anderson for the starting job.
Diggs missed seven games last season when he twice sprained a knee ligament.
The Panthers aren't scheduled to practice until Sunday. They play their final exhibition game Thursday at Pittsburgh.
