LB Mike Mitchell (transfer to Texas Tech, transfer to Southeastern FL)

One of two things happened with tagging Wilson (and I hope and choose to think it was the second): 1. he was simply in the right place at the right time, essentially, DeSoto just ran into him and he made the tackle; 2. He read the play, picked the right angle given Wilson's speed, had enough speed of his own to get there AND deliver a solid hit rather than just an arm tackle. JUICE!

I don't care how it happened. Many Buckeyes were were in the right place at the right time last year and failed to make a tackle. If the guys can be in the right place at the right time and make tackles this year The Silver Bullets will be a force to deal with.

Agreed. My point is that we may have a guy with football IQ and elite physical ability. One solid hit on Wilson isn't dispositive but it's good supporting evidence.

Oh I understand what you are saying. I was watching the Purdue game the other night saw Storm falling behind a receiver and thought to myself that Mike would be there step for step with that dude.

Yeah, but can Mike handle someone with the moves of Shane "Barry Sanders Jr Jr" Morris?

Based on his own description it was the later. He saw what was happening and met Wilson just as he received the ball.

Not to belabor the point BUT it's one thing to read a screen (and that's necessary and great), it's another to be able to then make a solid, slobber-knocking tackle in space, especially on someone with as much shake as we're told Wilson has. That's really great and me thinks portends future deeds of epic stature in the heat of battle.
