LB Larry Grant (Official Thread)

That was one play removed from the 70 yard sprint chasing Wolfe down the sidelines... I'm not sure if he's 4.4 quick, but that play was about conditioning more than speed

Put it this way, I don't recall seeing him in on the tackle of Wolfe or even near it, and even so he still looked--to put it bluntly--slow as hell. But, he did look gassed after he slid down...

I think the reason that some of us were shocked by his slow return is that he has been touted to no end as a super-fast LB and a guy that will get some time because of his speed. His tackling and fundamentals were in question, but his blazing speed was going to get him on the field. Speed, blah blah speed about him all the time.

Its not a matter of priorities, it is just a matter of discussing something seen in the game that was different than our expectations. We are not concerned with the actual play; we are concerned with what the play showed, or did not show, about a supposed characteristic of one of our players.

To be candid, with the exception of Ginn, I'm skeptical about these 40 times. They all seem inflated to me. I wasn't trying to argue the point, I'm just SO GLAD that we got a turnover. It was painful last year watching all those chances and little to show for it. We will need some TO's at Austin.
