I think (and have thought for a while) that the "not normal mess" is evidence of Ryan Day assessing and taking control.
I don't believe that the transition from Urban Meyer to Ryan Day was as smooth as it first appeared.
Agreed. Day was too smart to come in and upend Meyers Ferrari so he minimally tinkered in 19…..20 was a complete cluster for everyone….so 21 was the transition year.Fantastic point. This could all be the excorcism.
Yup. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine a D1 coach willing to take on that kind of risk. It’s simply not worth it for a coach to take on an attitude that clearly is less than a team-first kind of guy.
If he plays again, at a high level in college, it will be a great surprise to me. I was all for him retaining his scholarship through the year. At this point, I hope he’s left campus.
I don't know if he got other offers but I'm sure Eddie did due diligence about him with his Ohio State contacts. Seems to point to it being a one time major mistake as opposed to a constant issue within the program“Called up @EddieGeorge2727 & asked him what’s new he said it’s you!” Pope tweeted.
A member of the recruiting class of 2018, Pope will bring two years of eligibility to Tennessee State, an HBCU that plays at the FCS level.
He joins a team whose coaching staff features plenty of Ohio State ties, as George is entering his second season as the Tigers’ head coach while defensive backs coach Richard McNutt, running backs coach Pepe Pearson and tight ends coach Mike Brewster are also former Buckeyes.
Just sayin': Lot's of Buckeyes on the Tennessee State staff. I kind of wonder if he got any other offers; regardless, I wish him well at Tennessee State.
Along with George, who is in his second season at TSU and was a Heisman Trophy-winning running back at Ohio State, TSU running backs coach Pepe Pearson, tight ends coach Mike Brewster and defensive backs coach Richard McNutt are former Buckeyes.
Link is listing TEXAS STATE staff, not Tennessee State. I think Eddie is still there at Tennessee State.K'Vaughan Pope - 2022 - Football - Tennessee State University

2022 All-OVC Second Team Defense
2022 OVC All-Newcomer Team
2022: Played in nine games during his first season as a Tiger...finished tied for second on the team with 62 tackles (29 solo, 33 assists)...tallied four tackles for loss, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble...tallied a season-high 13 tackles against UT Martin (11/12)...finished with 11 tackles and two tackles for loss at Murray State (10/29)...forced a fumble in the opener at EWU (9/3)...finished with nine tackles against both JSU and Lane
Just sayin': Apparently he had a decent year (i.e. athletically) at TSU.
Also, when he transferred to TSU there were 4 Buckeyes (including George) on their football coaching staff.
Apparently after George left the new coach cleaned house and hired new assistant coaches.
