LB Jonathon Cooper (2nd Team All American, Denver Broncos)

And if he’s dominant you just put him back on the shelf?

I'm with you. Unless he's adamant that he wants to play against scum I'd hold him as an insurance policy against another DL getting injured and see where the chips fall in the playoffs. From his perspective I'd hate to play now and then have to hang out on the sideline when my team is fighting for the NC over the next month and a half. It seems like the longer he waits the healthier and stronger he'll be when he does play. Nothing like a springboard into his last season by breaking out a Chase Young kind of day against Lawrence or Jeaux Burreaux for all the marbles.

What arguement is that? The "it's better to win the Natty than beat Scum"arguement? I scoff sir , yes scoff.
I don't support it emotionally. But if Jon's purpose is to deployed when most desperately needed, Clemson/LSU is that need.

I'd also suggest that Jon's absence is not why they'd risk defeat in AA. Having him for depth against John's high flying O from Baton Rouge is another story.

The heart wants him for TTUN, but since he's still not close to 100% it's best to give him as much time as possible anyway.

Just let him play in every game and fuck the redshirt. He can show out then kill the pro day/combine.

Profit.

Disclaimer: I know Coop needs to make the best decision for him; I’m half-joking

If he isn't 100% the best thing for him and the fans is to wait as long as possible for one more game this year and then have a dominate year next year to pump his stock. If we get to LSU or Clemson for a game having Coop at 100% could be huge as opposed to 80% for scum. I'm pulling numbers out of my ass, but you get the point. I'd say you have a valid point if he was 100% now and could put up a Chase Young stat line for the next 4 games then kill the combine, but it doesn't sound like that is the case.

There's a strong argument that Saturday is the least important of the 4 remaining.
