Eric will make an unofficial visit to Ohio State this weekend for the Northwestern game; Ohio State (not offered) is his favorite, followed by Miami, Cincinnati, Northwestern, Akron, and Bowling Green (none offered).
On the season, Schwartz has approximately 100 tackles and 4 sacks in 8 games.
Personal take: At 6' 0", 227 lbs, with 4.7+ speed, I would imagine that Ohio State is considering Eric for fullback, not linebacker.
No offense to this kid, but he's NOT AJ Hawk! AJ was offered in the summer of his senior year, runs a 4.5 40, and played against top competition in HS. I'm sure this kid is a nice player, but I wish everyone would stop comparing every "slow", "under-rated" linebacker to AJ Hawk, who not only is a great football player, but a physical freak.BuckeyeBiz said:With all the academic casulties at the LB position this year it's looking like Schwartz will get that offer as a Plan B recruit. AJ Hawk comes to mind when you think of this kid. He has made the grades and wants to be a Buck. I have no problem with him coming on board.
My bad Westbuck...I didn't follow recruiting too closely back in 01. He definitely doesn't have the speed AJ had coming out of High School. Eric seems like a blue collar type player along with Homan that will remind us of AJ in a couple of years...I really doubt Eric would play to the potential of AJ in his freshman year, but one can only dream!
