Bogard next in line at Glenville

Written by Marc Givler

Few, if any, programs in the Country have produced as many quality defensive backs recently as Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Names such as Donte Whitner, Jermale Hines, Christian Bryant, and Latwan Anderson have all come out of the program over the last decade. The next in the long line of talented defenders is junior De'Van Bogard. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect is three games into a breakout season and he?s hoping that he and his Glenville teammates can keep things rolling.

"Our team just has to stay focused," said Bogard. "We have a big game this week against Cincinnati Anderson. We need to put the (other wins) behind us and stay focused on this one so we can be 4-0."

De'Van Bogard (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) has a bright future ahead of him. Although only a junior, Bogard has several schools asking him to make unofficial visits. Of course, don't ask him if he has any offers yet.

"I really don't know," said the 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback. "My coach (Ted Ginn Sr.) doesn't really tell the underclassmen too much but after we beat Dwyer in the Herbstreit Classic, he told me that 'I made money.' So I guess I might have an offer from somewhere. I really haven't been to any schools for games. I was supposed to go to Ohio State when they played Miami but I didn't make it. Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Syracuse, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are some of the schools I'm interested in right now."

Diddy was impresed with this kid in that game v Dwyer.

Has many of the same head hunting qualities as Bryant.

Seeing that Northwestern has made inquiries is comforting in terms of the acdemic issues that often are associated with Glenville prospects.
