Dante Booker to make OSU unofficial visit

One of the biggest names in the 2014 recruiting class has joined Buckeyes commits Cam Burrows, Jalin Marshall and Darron Lee and will make an unofficial visit to Ohio State on Saturday.

Outside linebacker Dante Booker (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) indicated Friday morning that he will be making an unofficial visit to Ohio State to watch the Buckeyes play Miami (Ohio) in the season opener.

Within 19 hours, I believe tOSU will enter a new era, where potential recruits see tOSU dominate and look good doing it, making tOSU appealing to a whole new generation, bringing in a whole new group of recruits.

Dante Booker (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) didn?t mince words following his unofficial visit to Ohio State on Saturday.

The Buckeyes were the leader before the season started and they didn?t disappoint when he saw them beat Miami (Ohio) 56-10 at The Horseshoe to open 2012.

It was the first-time the 2014 outside linebacker took in a game at Ohio Stadium and he left with memories to fill a scrapbook.

?To be down for [Coach Urban] Meyer?s first game was overall a great experience,? Booker said. ?It was my first OSU game as well as my uncle?s first game, so it meant a lot that I could do that with him.?

Dante Booker (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) isn?t hard to find on the football field. He?s the ESPN Watch List junior making seemingly every tackle.

Whether it?s sacking the quarterback, grabbing an interception or virtually taking over the game defensively, Booker is in the backfield almost as much as the opposition?s running back.

But even he can be wowed.

Dante Booker, St. Vincent-St. Mary: His dominating state final performance was a highlight of the football season, and I can't wait to see the 6-4 junior linebacker play next fall. He's almost unblockable and looks like he could step into a college game today

Back in the day I used to "light up that St V scoreboard", but I am pretty sure I couldn't have done it with Booker in my way.

(Yes, well, er um, as fifth graders, we used to furtively slither down the tracks at night in fear of getting mugged, jump the fence, throw the switch on the telephone pole next to the scoreboard upwards, and et voila, we undeniably and incontrovertibly lit things up for a few seconds, before turning the scoreboard off and running all the way home. That's when kids had productive lives, before the advent of video games.)
