Curtis Grant: 10 Reasons He Shouldn't Go To Ohio State On National Signing Day | Bleacher Report

FYI, Steward announced he is choosing between FSU and Clemson...and Larsen also wrote a piece about why 10 reasons why Tony Steward is a Florida lock.

Bleacher report is all I needed to see....he said no supporting cast in one breath and said Ohio State already has top line talent in this class...what a child,.:slappy:

Curtis Grant is considered one of the nation's top linebackers, and he remains uncommitted just a few days before National Signing Day.

The five-star linebacker has received offers from North Carolina, Virginia and Michigan and has called Florida and Ohio State his two finalists.

With less than a week to go before National Signing Day begins, he'll decide between going to The Ohio State University or playing for the... eh, it doesn't matter, he is going to play for the Buckeyes.

I'm here to give you 10 reasons Curtis Grant should go to Ohio State.

10. Supporting Cast

Ohio State has Ryan Shazier, Conner Crowell and Ejuan Price in the 2011 class alone, not to mention stacking up superb linebacker classes for years. Any other school is a joke in comparison.

The Buckeyes have some of the nation's best offensive talent already committed and don't need to look forward to national signing day... they've already got it covered.

9. Big Ten Competition

The Big Ten is the only conference to have every team represented in this year's super bowl with 18 players total between the two teams.

Grant would see better competition week in and week out in the Big Ten, end of story.

8. The New Linebacker U

Regardless of how things shake out on or after National Signing Day, Grant will have the chance to join an elite crop of linebackers at what is already known as the New Linebacker U.

Florida awaits word from top-ranked inside linebacker Tony Steward, top-ranked outside linebacker Stephone Anthony and No. 3 outside linebacker Curt Magitt.

Why go with uncertainty when you can go with the sure thing?

7. Special Attention

Being a top recruit, Grant has surely received proper attention from all coaches interested in recruiting him.

Jim Tressel made him his top priority from day one without any coaching change interruptions... unless you count picking up the main competition's recruiting coordinator as a coaching change.

Muschamp contacted him on the first two days after taking the job, literally months and months after Ohio State's recruiting staff had been in contact.

6. No Turmoil Trouble

Many recruits saw the departure of Urban Meyer as a factor to cross Florida off their list, Grant, once presumed to be a Gator lock, is no different.

5. Versatility

Ohio State and every other school that is any good have been known to move linebackers and every other position on the team around to match their top talent area.

You'd have to be on crack to think this gives one team an advantage over another, I'm not sure why I even brought it up.

4. Being Part of the Dynasty

Florida had a down year last year, they just flat out sucked by anyone's standards.

Grant, if he were to commit to Florida, could try to turnaround the program or he could join a dynasty at Ohio State.

3. Immediate Impact

The Gators certainly have a target on some of the nation's top linebackers, but it's for a reason, Grant is clearly not one of their top priorities.

If Grant were to choose Florida, he would probably get lost in the shuffle of a bunch of other LB prospects that were all lied to about playing time.

2. Big Ten Prototype

With the perfect size, speed and attributes, Curtis Grant is the prototypical linebacker.

He is 6'3'', 220 pounds and has the athleticism to succeed in any conference.

Have I mentioned that the Big Ten is the only conference that has every institution represented in this years Super Bowl? Yeah, Big Ten.

1. The Main Event

As National Signing Day approaches, Grant is a lot of teams No. 1 priority.

Ohio State already has linebacker Ryan Shazier, defensive end Steve Miller and a host of other up-front talent committed.

Wait, is that a good or bad thing? What are we talking about? Oh yeah, Curtis Grant should be a Buckeye.

Big Ten #1!!!

Took a little longer than 30 seconds because I went a little more elaborate on the changes. Still not very hard though.

I bet Larsen would be fun to McNeil.

Maybe we should send him an invite to join BP...

GPA

Just to be clear, I posted that Bleacher Report piece more for comedic value than anything else...

The article should have been called Ten Reason Why Benjamin Larsen Shouldn't Publish Another Article Ever Again In His Entire Life.

The article is filled with inconsistencies and just plain stupid statements. My favorite is this:

Ohio State does have Ryan Shazier and Ejuan Price to add support around Grant, but Florida's impressive 2011 class is something to consider.

The Gators have some of the nation's best offensive talent already committed and look for good news on or after National Signing Day as they await word from Tony Steward, Tim Jernigan, Stephone Anthony and Curt Maggitt, among others.
Note to Larsen: Florida's "impressive" recruiting class is ranked 24 places behind Ohio State's on Scout (and 8 places behind on Rivals).

It's called the Bleacher report for a reason...

Sometimes you get "Observations from C-Deck"

Sometimes you get Ten Cent Beer Night.
