Ohio State will get some banged-up players back this week as Mike Weber and Baron Browning have been cleared to return against Michigan this week and Thayer Munford is probable, Urban Meyer announced on Monday.
Weber missed Saturday's game against Maryland with a thigh contusion while Browning missed his second-straight game with an undisclosed injury. Munford left the game in the first half of the game with an apparent leg injury.
Meyer also said Branden Bowen is available if he's needed, and was cleared to play against Maryland this week.

COLUMBUS — Sometimes even five-star potential requires a bit of patience to be locked, and Ohio State is expecting that Baron Browning will be worth the wait.
The first two years with the program certainly didn’t go quite the way either Browning or the Buckeyes might have envisioned. There have been questions about where he fits best in the linebacker unit, injuries that have slowed his progress and perhaps also some adversity caused by the struggles of the previous defensive coaching staff.

Ohio State held a team scrimmage on Saturday morning, the team's eighth practice of fall camp, and the early returns indicate the defense got the better of the offense on a spectacular day for football in Columbus, Ohio.
In head coach Ryan Day's first extended look at the team padded up and going full contact, two pick sixes were notable happenings along with the efforts of Baron Browning, who caught Day's attention from both the middle and outside linebacker spots.
Q. And you're about halfway through camp. Who's flashed? Who's really impressed you to this point?
RYAN DAY: On the whole team or -- well, I want to look at the film today. Today was really the first day in pads that we've hit, that we've tackled to the ground. A lot of the stuff leading up to this point we were kind of installing, and you didn't get a good feel for that. Today was a little bit more of a feel for that. I want to get on the film and see what that was all about, but certainly the defensive line I thought did a good creating penetration. You felt that, and Baron Browning has shown so far that he's really made a lot of progress in a short period of time. That's been exciting.
I think our secondary is getting their hands on a lot of balls. We had a couple of pick-sixes out there which was really good today. I think those guys are doing a good job. I want to watch the film and really grade it and see how guys graded out, but we're going to treat it like a game and see how everybody did in terms of a grade, and then we'll go from there.
Q. You mentioned Baron Browning. Where is he, middle linebacker, Will, what's he doing right now?
RYAN DAY: Yeah, he's playing mostly in the middle. He'll move around a little bit, though. He plays fast. He's very, very athletic that way. He's physical. He's big. He's strong. I think Al (Washington) is doing a good job with him in terms of understanding and diagnosing plays and being in the right spot at the right time. I think all the linebackers are doing a good job. It's a long, athletic group right there, and so they're off to a good start.
It's no secret last season's linebacker corps, particularly those not named Malik Harrison, struggled against both the run and pass as Ohio State's defense surrendered the most points and yards per game in school history.
This season, the entire group returns but only Harrison seems to have a definitive starting role (at the will linebacker spot) even though Tuf Borland (mike) and Pete Werner (sam) remain in the fold.
Could this be the year Browning seizes more playing time?
In 2018, the Fort Worth, Texas product played in 12 games logging 289 snaps, 23 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss as the definitive fourth linebacker. Browning even made three starts while also serving as a gunner on the kickoff team.
That output followed a true freshman season in which he saw action in 12 games, mostly on special teams, tallying 14 stops.
There's no doubt Browning has the size to play in the middle at 6-foot-3, 248 pounds although his pedigree screams outside linebacker after he arrived at Ohio State as a 5-star early-enrollee ranked as the nation's No. 1 outside linebacker by the three main recruiting services.
Though a starting gig at either spot is likely a long shot, it feels like Day's vision of having enough depth to rotate linebackers the way Larry Johnson rotates defensive linemen could be evolving before our eyes.
Harrison is going to see a ton of snaps, it's hard to envision Borland and Werner not still being heavy rotational guys and of course Day noted at Big Ten media days sophomore Teradja Mitchell was pushing Borland in the middle.
And of course, the unit features two more sophomores in Dallas Gant and K'Vaughan Pope that would love to see the field. Pope stood out Saturday too with a pick-six.

Baron Browning Progressing Toward Larger Role in Buckeye Defense
Staying in the playbook is going to get Baron Browning on the field this season for the Buckeyes.
Browning played in 12 games last season, starting three times at middle linebacker as a true sophomore while Tuf Borland returned from an Achilles injury.
Browning finished with 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one sack in a mostly reserve and package role.
Throughout camp, however, he has shown that he can be much more than just a backup. Working with new linebackers coach Al Washington, Browning — like everyone else on the Buckeye defense — has hit the reset button and gotten a fresh start.
For Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, it is clear that this new defense is right up Browning’s alley.
“Baron Browning has shown so far that he’s really made a lot of progress in a short period of time,” Day said. “He’s playing mostly in the middle. He’ll move around a little bit, though. Washington arrived from Michigan in the winter and didn’t really know what he had on his hands, but knew there would be talent. Washington went back and watched film, he watched workouts, and this spring he ran his players through their paces. He did it all over again in the summer and through fall camp.
To a man, the linebackers are excited about the changes on defense and they appear to be blossoming, particularly Baron Browning.
What has Browning done that has worked in camp?
“Being himself. Believing in himself. He is a great player,” Washington said. “And you know what, people keep saying he’s a great player, he’s very bright. He’s probably one of the brightest guys I’ve ever been around. As much as he meets, he is one of the best minds I’ve been around, and I’m being sincere with that. So he’s progressing. He’s playing the way he should play. He’s still gonna get better. I love the way his mind is right now. All he’s focused on is getting better and it’s awesome to see.”
Browning came to Ohio State as a 5-star prospect and one of the top linebackers in the nation. His size (6-3 248), athleticism, and speed have created expectations that would be impossible for almost anybody to live up to. And being a junior, just like established middle linebacker starter Tuf Borland, could create some friction and questions about his future.
Rather than worry about any of that, he is only concerned with himself.
“I’ve just been controlling what I can control and taking one day at a time and just listening to everything Coach Washington, Coach Mattison, and Coach Hafley have been telling me,” Browning said.

Saturday’s season opener against FAU, the first game of his third season at Ohio State, was different.
“I told Coach Washington after the game, that was one of my first games where I didn’t feel nervous before,” Browning said while meeting with the media on Wednesday. “I just felt at ease about it, and I just think that goes into how I’ve been approaching every day and every moment.”
Given that he arrived at Ohio State as a five-star recruit in the class of 2017, Browning’s first two seasons as a Buckeye can be viewed as a disappointment. While he saw semi-regular playing time in Ohio State’s middle linebacker rotation last season, he has recorded just 37 total tackles so far in his career and hasn’t made many impact plays in a position group that has been a weak link for the Buckeyes over the past two years.
On Saturday, though, Browning showed flashes of potentially emerging as the player he’s been expected to be since he was ranked as the top high school linebacker in the country. He played 36 snaps – the same number of snaps as Tuf Borland, even though Borland started the game in front of Browning at middle linebacker – and recorded four tackles, including one tackle for loss that put his pursuit speed and violence as a tackler on display.
Browning attributes his improved play on Saturday to the work he’s put in this offseason to prepare for this fall and the tutelage he’s received from first-year Ohio State linebackers coach Al Washington.
“The approach Coach Washington has in helping me prepare, I feel like that played a big role,” Browning said. “I watched a lot of film and just prepared … I feel real comfortable, just in the defense and just playing, I’m not thinking. I just feel comfortable.”
Washington praised Browning for his work ethic this offseason; during one interview session this spring, Washington commented that Browning was probably waiting for him to finish so they could watch film together.
“Honestly, I’m surprised I’m not getting a call,” Washington said then. “He’ll be waiting in my office every day. He’s worked his tail off, man. Really has. I’m not just saying that.”

This guy's a real jerk
Pretty insane watching Baron play this year. His diagnosis of the play, pursuit, and violence have really been showing (all while maintaining strong gap integrity). Looks like a completely different player and I couldn't be more happily surprised. Tuf is solid but based on what I've been seeing, id probably expect Baron to take the majority of the reps going forward.
