In his last days, Trebek kept working, filming Jeopardy! episodes up through October 29th. But on Sunday morning the show tweeted a heartbreaking update: "Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex." While we don't like that final answer, still, we're grateful for all the time we had with Mr. Trebek. But that last Jeopardy episode of his, set to air on December 25th, is one holiday present that will need to come wrapped in a few boxes of tissues.

Country Legend Charley Pride Dies of COVID-19 Complications at 86

Charley Pride was the first Black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the first Black person to host the Country Music Association Awards

Country legend Charley Pride — a pioneer for Black musicians in country music — died on Saturday in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 86 due to complications from COVID-19, a statement on his website confirmed.

With top hits including “Kiss an Angel Good Morning” and “Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone,” Pride became the first Black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000.

He was born in Mississippi in 1934 as the son of a sharecropper. After a brief time serving in the Army and some unsuccessful attempts at becoming a professional baseball player, Pride headed to Nashville in 1963.

Chad Stuart, of Britain’s Chad & Jeremy Duo, Dead at 79

Chad Stuart, the bespectacled half of the British Invasion-era Chad and Jeremy, has died. The cause was pneumonia. Stuart turned 79 on Dec. 10.

The duo is known for such ’60s hits as “Yesterday’s Gone,” “A Summer Song” and “Willow Weep for Me,”
