When I worked in the Aleutian Islands in the 90's we picked up one channel, The Alaska Rural Community channel. Every Saturday night at 11 the aired MST3K. It was one of the highlights of the week. That and Colombo at 4am Monday-Friday

He had a pretty good career as a producer afterward. Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo is the only hit I remember under his name but he was involved with a lot of acts including Johnny and Edgar Winter.

Remember hearing Hang On Sloopy for the first time while riding with the family to Fla on vacation. Saw him a few times in the 70s (dude had a serious vertical leap while playing). Rock and roll, hoochie koo into the sunset!

Saw him at the Agora, maybe 1977 or78. Great show. After every song crowd broke out the “we want sloopy” chant. He had no idea why that was a thing. At one point he said I don’t do that song anymore, greeted with boos.
