This is depressing. Worth paying to see in theaters?
Yeah, if there's nothing better to see. It wasn't bad by any means, I just went in with pretty high expectations.

What'd you think of Angels & Demons, by the way? I find myself agreeing with you about 95% of the time.

'Angels & Demons'...eh, decent adaptation of one of my favorite books. As would be expected, some major plot points are altered or just dropped altogether (not unlike 'The DaVinci Code'). Biggest beef with it is that it feels rushed in some areas and some of the acting is a little stiff. Decent enough thriller that I'd have enjoyed better if I hadn't read the book first...6.5/10

I also read 'The DaVinci Code' before seeing the film and was underwhelmed when I first saw it. It grew on me after subsequent viewings. It's worth seeing, especially if you haven't read the book. There are major subplots from the novel left out (the Camerlengo's relationship with the fallen Pope, the director of CERN, a major role in the book, scrapped altogether in the film, the Illuminati character's much different and less dark, the female lead's relationship with the murdered lead scientist and co-developer of the antimatter), but that really can't be helped if they wanted to trim it to below a three hour movie. Visually, it's quite stunning with the plot built around The Vatican and various churches in Rome. Having read the novel, I always thought it would be a little difficult to adapt to the screen, and that shows in a lot of areas. I also think the plot twists were a little transparent in the movie...but then again, that may have come from reading the book first. It's worth a look IMO...decent thriller, but definately nothing groundbreaking.

The 3D effects were very good. Probably not a good movie for very young children.

GI Joe.

Went in expecting a very bad movie, and still felt disappointed. There were a few sweet effects, but there were a lot of others that were done very poorly. I'm not talking about futuristic crazy technology, I mean they failed to make realistic looking metal planes or polar bears.

The incestuous nature of the characters' relationships to one another is remarkably widespread.

Just watched this last weekend as well. I thought it was pretty weak. They tried to tell all these back stories about the characters and it just made it too choppy to me. I think I only watched it because the Transformers movie was successful turning an 80s cartoon into a good movie. This one...not so much.

I'm glad I boycotted this turd from the moment I saw the trailer.
