Tropic Thunder - it was okay, but I was somewhat disappointed. Simple Jack would've been a better movie, imo.

Saw a preview for The Uninvited and decided to check it out on Wiki...turns our it is a remake of A Tale of Two Sisters which, if you don't mind subtitles, is one of the best foreign horror films I have ever seen. Hopefully this is not just another feeble attempt to recreate another Asian horror classic (The Ring, Dark Water, The Grudge, The Eye, Pulse, etc.).

Had to pay the piper for dragging the better half to 'Frost/Nixon' a couple weeks ago. The penance? 'Bride Wars'. Mother of God, shoot me. 1/10 only because Kate Hudson has a hot ass.

What may also be of interest about this film to the enthusiasts of this thread is that the editor is the same, Brazilian Daniel Rezende, of City of God & Motorcycle Diaries. Film still needs a distributor, my understanding, hope that gets resolved soon.

Also seeking a distributor, but one of the films that will probably make the final cut for Academy nominations for Best Foreign Language Film, we'll know very soon, is fictional...but based on actual Mexican political and historical characters. Screenplay is from a novel that presents the coming of age of a young girl from her marriage at 15 to a 39 yr old general/politician, until his death, told through her eyes. Features corruption, murder and the macho nature of love, sex and politics in Mexico, 1932-1946. Beautifully shot, colorful, good story line & great cast featuring one of the world's most incredibly beautiful and talented young actresses, Ana Claudia Talancon.
Notes: Che, parts 1&2 have been edited down to 130 minutes each for commercial distribution.
Believe it's final, (Pitt) will play, Dickie Ecklund, older brother of Mickey Ward, (Wahlberg), the boxer subject of Aronofsky's next, The Fighter.

Nope. I've seen it quite a few times. It's a movie that I find good enough to watch when I see it on TV, but not one that I'd watch if I owned. It has a very good tension to it for sure.

Why would the aliens come to earth if water can kill them? They're obviously intelligent.
