1 year contract in Cleveland won't bother me, if we get the same production from Jamal circa 07.

He can still be a very effective runner in his age, I believe he has a couple decent years left, he just needs to tone down the attitude. And under our colors we've had players with touchy mentality's really mature (see KW2 for starters)

Is that the "rebuilding" philosophy that you want for your ball team?

No, that's called bringing in a veteran RB to help school the younger guys and be a solid contributor as well.

We lack depth at this position, Jamal will be gone, that gives us Davis, Harrison and a couple oddly timed carries from Herron. I'd prefer LJ to get those carries as opposed to the last of the 3. Plus this saves us from having to draft a RB right away and allows us to focus on other positions of need.

I'd feel pretty decent decent with Davis, Johnson and Harrison as our RB corps.

I understand the bolstering of the RB core, but Larry Johnson is not going to school anyone. He is a me-first guy. Which is not a problem on a team that can handle him.

And in any case, he would start over any RB on the Brown's roster, that I'm pretty sure of. He is not a wiley veteran, I hope people don't expect him o help out the younger backs.

Larry Johnson is the last thing this team needs. Stay away....far away from this guy. Haven't we learned about having GREAT team guys like this on our roster in the past. Move forward, do not sign anyone and ride out the year as is.

What problem do the Brown have that Johnson can possibly help with? Not enough rings in this circus? He does fit in with the whole "two yards and a cloud of controversy" philosophy of the franchise.

What can a guy with 2.7 YPC and no TDs possibly do to help? That's not being a "solid contributor" in my book. And if you happen to value whatever RBs this team has right now, I don't want any of them learning whatever LJ might be teaching.

Everybody was happy to get rid of Braylon because he was a turd, and now you want to bring this guy in?

Cmon down!!

A veteran RB to fill in for Benson while he's hurt. And gives us a 1 / 2 punch for veteran minimum? I'll take it for the playoff push.

And "Bungles" went out the window yesterday @ 4 PM. 7-2 and a stranglehold on the division.

Is he gonna take just the vet min?

The word here is that he will be inactive to start with (to see how he handles learning the playbook and and to see who is going to have to be waived to make room for him). Marvin Lewis is already quoted as saying he will be the #4 back for now. Haven't seen anymore on Ced Benson's injury, but the rumor mill is abound with theories that he is in worse shape than being initally reported.

Good move (for vet minimum) to provide more depth in the backfield for a run at the playoffs. Plus, he is in a situation where he is not the featured back. One bad move on his part, and he'll be sent packing. Hopefully, daddy chewed his a$$ enough that he'll keep his mouth shut and just run the ball...
