But I think Schiano made a good choice to stay at SUNJ.
So does this mean Schiano is a man of character , or just smart? :)akronbuck;678362; said:that made my day hearing that.

All coaches must know what a disaster miami really is. alabama close 2nd lol
Amato has always leaned toward D-cups and Defense.Taosman;678620; said:Here's a thought.
Make Shannon head coach.
Bring in Amato and Walt Harris as offensive assistants.
And Tenuta to coach defense with Shannon.

"Cerebral" Walt Harris would go over like lead ballon in Coral Gables.
Shannon has to bear his burdens as part of the past administration, hence part of the problem.
Tenuta and Amato in one room would be too much ego power for any staff to bear.
All in all, I think your suggestion is a prescription for disaster - but perhaps that is what you had in mind :)
Coker takes analyst job with ESPN
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- Former Miami coach Larry Coker will work as an analyst on select games on ESPNU this fall, the network announced Thursday.
Coker spent six seasons with the Hurricanes, going 60-15 and winning the 2001 national championship. He was fired last November, before Miami finished its 2006 campaign with a 7-6 record.

Larry Coker selected as first UTSA head football coach
San Antonio Business Journal - by W. Scott Bailey
Officials with the University of Texas at San Antonio say Larry Coker will be introduced on Friday as the first head football coach for an institution that was founded roughly 40 years ago.
Coker comes to San Antonio from Florida, where he coached the University of Miami from 2001 through 2006.
Coker led the Hurricanes to a bowl game in each of his six seasons in Miami.
In 2001, he led the team to an undefeated season and a national championship. In 2002, Coker?s Hurricanes advanced to the national championship game. But Miami lost that controversial overtime battle against Ohio State.
The University of Texas System Board of Regents granted UTSA permission to launch a football program last December.
UTSA Athletic Director Lynne Hickey?s plan is to start that football program off at the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (formerly the Division II) level. Ultimately, she wants to move the Roadrunners up to the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I) and into a larger athletic conference than its current Southland Conference.
